He had clearly promised to wait for her, but he'd left without a word. This wasn't like Timothy York at all.
Summer Thorne sank into the sofa, pulled out her phone, and gave him a call.
The call connected, but no one picked up.
Summer Thorne frowned slightly and sent him a text instead—
"Are you home?"
She sent the text, but heard nothing back for a long time.
Summer Thorne had other things on her mind and didn't have the energy to keep staring at her phone. She quickly closed the app and, after a moment's thought, called Iris Pryce.
Iris Pryce answered almost immediately. "What's up?"
"Iris, would you like to have breakfast with me tomorrow morning?" Summer Thorne asked. "Bring Georgia along, too. There's something I need to talk to you both about."
Surprisingly, Iris Pryce agreed right away without asking any questions.
After hanging up, Summer Thorne sat in a daze for a while. She was just about to get up and shower when her phone suddenly rang.
