Chapter 2 - chapter 2: surprise visit from Young mistress Han

It was evening. Song Min Ho sat at his desk, his jaw resting lightly on his arm.

It was almost ten, yet he was still working. Despite being a candidate for the presidential seat, he was also a businessman feared across the empire. He was known as the Cold Prince because of his ruthless skills.

He slowly stood up, taking his phone from his pocket. He scrolled through Mi Rae's pictures on Instagram, admiring her beauty. Her brown hair and black eyes brought out her innocence…

But what caught his attention wasn't her.

It was the figure in the background.

Mi Rae's younger sister.

Gia Lee

She stood there with her jet-black hair and emerald green eyes, looking completely unbothered—as if nothing around her mattered. There was something free about her.

A small smile crept onto his lips.

He switched off his phone and left the office, his bag in his hand.

__

The car screeched to a halt inside his mansion, bodyguards already surrounding the place.

He stepped out, his long legs moving with quiet authority as the people around him bowed slightly in respect.

The mansion was beautiful… but empty.

He rarely spent time there. No matter how grand it looked, it never felt alive.

"Welcome, sir."

His butler, Mr. Park, walked forward.

"Your grandfather came earlier. Seeing you weren't around, he left. He only asked me to pass a message."

Mr. Park stretched out his hand to take the bag, but Min Ho didn't give it.

"What did he say?"

"He wanted to give his final blessings for your wedding tomorrow."

Min Ho didn't respond. He just walked straight to his room. He removed his suit and got into the bathtub, letting the warm water soak into his body. His hair fell wet against his face.

He was frustrated.

No one cared that he was getting married to a woman he never loved—doesn't love—and never will love. All they cared about was the Song family name… and how high he could take it after winning the election.

After a while, he got out, changed into casual clothes, and went to the dining room.

The food was already cold.He sat down and ate in silence.

__

At the gates of the mansion, Gia Lee kept honking her car loudly.

"You idiots, let me in this instant!"

"Sorry, ma'am. We can't let you in."

The bodyguard stood firm, his eyes locked on hers.

Gia Lee scoffed.

"Can't let me in? Do you even know who I am? I'm the sister of the woman your boss is about to marry—Han Gia Lee."

The guard didn't respond.

Her annoyance grew.

"You want to do this the hard way? Fine."

She reversed the car and then sped forward.

Before she could hit the gate, the guard quickly opened it with a remote. The car rushed in.

She stepped out and flipped him off, walking away as he cursed under his breath.

She walked confidently into the house, her steps steady. Once inside, she locked the doors behind her to keep the guards out.

The house felt… off.

Cold. Quiet. Lifeless.

Her eyes moved around until she spotted light coming from the dining room.

Perfect.

She walked in.

Min Ho didn't react when he noticed her.

No surprise. No shock. Nothing.

"You know it's a crime to break into someone's house," he said calmly, his voice deep as his eyes slowly lifted.

"I wouldn't call it breaking in. Your guard was there—he just did a bad job," Gia Lee replied, taking a seat opposite him."That guard is a trained soldier. He could have killed you… if you weren't from the Han family—and a little crazy," Min Ho said, pushing his plate aside.

"So… what do I owe this visit, Miss Han?"

"I'll get straight to the point."

He raised a brow but stayed silent.

"I know what you need. And I can give it to you."

"And what's that?"

She smirked.

Then climbed onto the table.

His expression remained stoic. She leaned closer, her voice dropping slightly. "A bride."

"I already have one," he replied calmly.

"You mean my sister?" she said. "You don't love her. And she's obsessed with you. Won't you feel bad when she falls too hard… and can't get back up?"She jumped down and continued.

"If you marry me instead of my cliché sister—not only would we make the perfect couple, but it would also boost your votes for next year's election. No one needs to know I'm your wife except the Han and Song families."

She walked behind him slowly.

"A hidden bride will attract attention. It'll give you exactly what you need to win. And don't worry… after a year, we divorce."

"What do you gain?" he asked casually, unfazed by her presence.

"Freedom."

A pause.

"My grandfather arranged a marriage for me. I'm not doing it. We both need this."

Another pause.

"And trust me—you don't want my sister."

Min Ho stayed quiet, his mind racing.

"Think fast," she added with a smirk.

"Tomorrow is your wedding."

Silence.

Then—

"It sounds solid."

Her smile widened.

"Good. All you need to do is reject Mi Rae at the altar… and leave the rest to me."

She turned to leave, then paused slightly.

"And don't forget to bring popcorn."

A small smirk.

"Where I go… drama follows."

And just like that, she walked out.
