After they finished eating, Missie Zimmer left.
Stella Lockwood had calmed down significantly. She'd been thinking about the farcical situation her grandfather had pushed her into and felt she needed to talk to Sean Quinn again. She walked out of the emergency room and into the hallway, where she saw Sean tucked away in an empty corner, on the phone, giving someone instructions.
The bright lights illuminated him. With one hand in his pocket, he radiated an extraordinary aura. He was speaking fluent English, but she couldn't tell who he was talking to.
She stared for a moment, then walked over, feeling puzzled.
Sean Quinn saw her approaching, his gaze sweeping over her before he hung up the phone. He took the initiative to ask, "Need something?"
"Um..." She tucked her hair behind her ear as she drew closer, tilting her head to look at the kind and approachable face he was showing now. "How... how do you know my grandfather?"
"We're chess buddies," Sean Quinn answered truthfully.
