When her soft little body clung to him, his eyes nearly brimmed with tears. A child with a family might take being cared for as a given; only a child without one could truly understand how blissful it is to be cherished.

From that day forward, he became a member of the Lockwood Family. Zeno Lockwood registered him with the authorities, and he, in turn, stopped calling him "Uncle" and started calling him "Dad." While Flynn recovered from his fracture, his new father arranged for tutors to teach him how to read.
His new father told him that only through studying could he learn to understand the world, distinguish right from wrong, secure a better future, and realize his greater purpose in life.
Once he was fully recovered, his new father busied himself with enrolling him in school. His long-held dream of attending a beautiful school had, just like that, magically come true.
