Stella Lockwood moved to take the bags from Sean Quinn, laughing inwardly. 'He's really committed to the part. Even more dedicated than I am.'
"No need, I've got it," he stopped her in a low voice, heading up the steps. The bags were quite heavy; he didn't want to tire her out. He brushed past her, his voice as indifferent as ever.
Stella Lockwood rubbed her nose and followed, finding herself left out in the cold yet again. 'Fine, he's only here because he and Grandpa are good friends despite their age gap. Except Grandpa is great at throwing his friends under the bus.'
In the living room, a smile appeared on Sean Quinn's handsome face the moment he saw the old man, whom he hadn't seen in days. "Grandpa, you're looking well today..."
"I'm doing all right, all right. Why did you bring so many things... Just put them down... Come here, come here. Grandpa saw what you did today... You silly boy, why didn't you tell them you were already married..."
