Returning to the emergency room waiting area from the parking lot, he heard Chloe Crawford's anguished sobs. "Sister, don't leave me, please don't leave me! Sister, wake up..."
His heart leaped into his throat. He rushed over and saw that Yvonne Crawford's body had been wheeled out, covered by a white sheet.
Morton Grant walked over and shook his head at him. 'This girl... The boss looked after her for so many years, and in the end, she still couldn't have a peaceful death.'
Sean's heart ached. Since becoming Sean Quinn, the one person he felt he had truly wronged was this kind young girl. More importantly, he owed her his life. He had intended to ensure she would be provided for, but something had gone wrong, costing the poor girl her life.
Now, looking at the girl who had become a mess of tears, his guilt deepened. He hurried forward to support her. "Cherie, your sister is gone. My condolences... my condolences..."
