The three of them turned and ran out of the emergency department, heading for the inpatient ward. They entered Building 3, went up to the fifth floor, and found bed 608. Sure enough, Morton Grant was lying quietly in bed, his eyes open, looking as though he was trying to sit up.
Philip Lefevre rushed forward to help him up. "What happened? Who attacked you and Sir?"
"I don't know. I didn't see... How did you all get here?" Morton Grant's face was deathly pale.
"Morton Grant, how are you feeling?" Stella Lockwood asked, suppressing her own urgency.
"I'll live. By the way, where is Sir?" Seeing Stella Lockwood reminded him of Sean Quinn. He'd quickly lost consciousness after being shot last night and had no idea what happened afterward.
