Monica Sullivan held her phone, carefully pointing it at the crack in the door, recording the entire conversation inside. Then she found a secluded spot, edited the video and audio, and sent it to Old Mrs. Sherwood.
"Grandma, on her first day of school, Iris Dalton offended Jude Shaw and beat Milo Monahan so badly he had to be hospitalized. She has provoked two of Valerium's major wealthy families at once. I'm worried this might negatively impact the Sherwood Family," she wrote.
After sending the message, Monica put away her phone and silently brooded. She had assumed that since Iris injured Milo, the Monahan Family would never let the matter rest and might even have her expelled directly. She never expected them to actually drop the issue.
Monica couldn't figure it out. How could Iris cause such a huge incident and still come out completely unscathed? Was it just dumb luck, or was there some other reason?
