During the surgery, Mayor Fu rushed to the scene.

The mayor walked over to his wife, took her hand, and comforted her.

Mayor Fu waved a hand at the dean and the others, an unspoken understanding passing between them. He then began to wait quietly outside the door.
As they waited, Mayor Fu put his arm around his wife's shoulders and gently patted her in reassurance.
