She took a deep breath, struggling to suppress the resentment welling inside her. 'I can't ruin my image, or I'll have even less of a chance.' With that thought, she forced a faint smile.
"My apologies. I lost my composure," Alice said, her voice a mix of alluring charm and cold detachment. An ordinary man might have been captivated by it.
Unfortunately, neither Jacks nor Felix Vaughn were ordinary men. Their standards were certainly not that low.
As for Caden Reginald, his heart and eyes were filled with nothing but Seraphina Ashworth; he didn't spare Alice a single shred of his attention.
