Seeing the menacing Demon Army approach, the slaves sensed trouble and began to back away in a panic.
Kane stood at the front, his nerves instantly tensing. Though exhausted, he still gripped his weapon, ready to strike at any moment.
"Kane, they're on our side!"
Seeing this, Anvil quickly spread his arms to block the way between the two groups.
"Don't be afraid. This is the mysterious force that's been supporting us from behind the scenes."
As if to confirm Anvil's words, the healer brothers perched on his shoulder bobbed their round bodies up and down in a nodding motion.
Only then did the crowd doubtfully lower their weapons, but the terror on their faces had not yet completely faded.
An even more complex expression appeared on Kane's face.
'The mysterious force behind us might be a hidden human organization, renegade Dark Elves, or even some evil church…'
