Seraphina Quinn cut in before Tanya Thorne could speak, her voice cold. "No." After a pause, she added, "It's just a coincidence. They happen to have the same name."
After she spoke, she shot a look at Tanya Thorne, who was too stunned to speak.
For once, Tanya Thorne's mind worked quickly. She didn't mess up.
She quickly turned to Damian Fairchild and said,
"You're... you're Mr. Fairchild from The Fairchild Group, aren't you? Um, my cousin isn't fortunate enough to be associated with a powerful man like you. The man I was just cursing out was my cousin's scumbag ex-husband, not you."
Damian Fairchild's eyes narrowed, his voice still frigid. "Is that so?"
Tanya Thorne didn't bat an eye. "Of course."
Seraphina spoke again. "Mr. Fairchild, is there anything else?"
Damian Fairchild let go of Tanya Thorne's wrist. Seraphina immediately pulled Tanya away, and they left.
Once inside the private room, Seraphina Quinn told Tanya Thorne everything that had happened recently.
