Mrs. Sommers's expression turned grim at his words.
Her breathing quickened, but she refused to be led around by the nose by Damian Fairchild.
So, as soon as Damian Fairchild finished speaking, she rebuked him in a low voice, "Damian Fairchild, stop trying to drive a wedge between my son and me. And don't even think about destroying his marriage to Seraphina Quinn..."
Before she could finish, Damian Fairchild cut her off from the other end of the line, his tone light:
"Mrs. Sommers, the truth will out. The child in Seraphina Quinn's belly will be born sooner or later. But if, on that day, the child is proven not to be a Sommers, wouldn't that be a slap in the face to you and the entire Sommers family?"
Mrs. Sommers took a deep breath. "What exactly do you mean?" she demanded in a cold, low voice. "What's your game?"
