The two of them looked at each other and smiled.
Lin Feng took the old commander's rank insignia, but then helped him fasten it back on before speaking.
"I don't have the qualifications or the ability to command so many people in battle yet. Just give me the rank of Major General; that's still one rank higher than Qin Hu."
"Besides, the number of people needed for future combat won't exceed a thousand. I'll arrange for the rest to handle logistics. The rank of Major General is more than enough."
The old commander nodded. This also aligned with Qin Hu's view on future warfare.
"Alright. Then tomorrow afternoon, I hope you, Major General Lin, will lead your Invincible Fleet to the second line of defense to take over command of the Thirteenth Division from us!"
Lin Feng took a deep breath and nodded in agreement.
The old commander gave one last salute and turned to leave.
