"There shouldn't be any more enemies. The beast in the sky must be tired, too. We haven't seen it in a long while."
Prince Odoruo looked up at the sky and let out a long sigh.
'These past few hours have been more intense than my entire life before this.'
Of course, the price for that intensity was the entirety of his military influence, built over decades, being wiped out in one fell swoop today.
"If Your Highness's legion hadn't been reassigned, we never would have suffered such a pathetic defeat!" Tec grumbled indignantly.
"Don't lose heart, Your Highness! Next time..." Castro was still beside him, rattling on about his future battle plans.
Unfortunately, when Castro finished, few voiced their agreement.
Aside from Castro, the ones still with Prince Odoruo were old retainers who had long ago lost the ambition of their youth. All they wanted now was to leave this land of sorrow and live out their remaining days in peace.
