Chu Bamboo stretched, then glanced at the time.
"Nine o'clock! Hmm, no wonder I'm so hungry."
He took one last, long look at the dilapidated and decaying base. Biting his lip, he turned without hesitation, strode to the main gate, opened it, and sprinted off into the distance.
No hiding. No taking cover. No concealment.
The wind brushed against his cheeks.
Chu Bamboo could smell the fragrance of the grass and trees. He was more relaxed at this moment than he had been since arriving in this world-line, and his thoughts began to wander.
