Amelia Lockhart waited from morning till night, but the woman she was waiting for never showed up.
It wasn't until Ethan Quinn called that her wait was interrupted. Her listless voice on the other end made him furrow his brow.
"What's wrong?"
Just as Amelia Lockhart was about to answer, she heard a boarding announcement from the other end of the line. "Are you boarding?"
"Yeah, heading to an event."
"You should go, then. I'm fine."
Amelia Lockhart was about to hang up when she heard a soft sigh through the phone. "There's still time before I board. If you don't tell me what's wrong, I'll worry."
"It's nothing major, really. It's just... this morning, after, um... Molly Sullivan brought me home, she seemed to get angry. She hasn't come to see me..." Amelia Lockhart's voice was heavy with disappointment.
