Lynn Thorne had raised her son, Leah Sutton, well since he was a child. He wasn't spoiled or wild and loved sharing with his friends.
Leah played with Miles for a long time. When he remembered he had to go home for dinner, he tugged on Miles's arm and said, "Miles, why don't you come to my house for dinner tonight!"
Miles glanced at him and asked quietly, "Is your new dad nice to you?"
"Of course he is!"
"So who do you think is better? Your real dad or your new dad?"
"My new dad, of course!" Leah Sutton answered without a second thought.
"Why?"
"My real dad wasn't nice to my mom. He was always fighting with her and making her cry, and he was hardly ever home. But my new dad is different. He makes my mom laugh and tells me stories… Anyway, my new dad is really, really great!" Leah Sutton rattled on, listing all the good things about Leo Jarvis.
"I'm so jealous!"
Leah happily invited Miles to his house, but Miles refused.
