Zane Patterson asked quizzically, "What's your name?"
"My name is Caleb Carter."
A subtle look passed between Annelise Valentine and Zane Patterson.
The two of them had grown up with Sean Conrad and had met basically all of the Conrad Family's relatives. But this Caleb Carter... they had never heard of him.
Annelise asked suspiciously, "Are you sure your cousin is Sean Conrad?"
Her question seemed to make Caleb a little unsure himself. "Yeah... Sean Conrad, from Veridia, works in tech. What's wrong?"
Zane said, "Buddy, you can eat whatever you want, but you can't just say whatever you want. I grew up practically joined at the hip with Sean Conrad. I can name his relatives in my sleep. How come I've never heard of him having a cousin like you?"
Seeing their disbelief, Caleb got a little flustered. "Hey! Hold on, I'll show you a picture!"
He took out his phone and started swiping through it.
