Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Jiaoyang Cultivation Base

CREAK!

The door to the master bedroom was pushed open.

Li Qian's parents, Li Chengyang and Han Yuqing, walked out in their pajamas.

His mother, Han Yuqing, saw Li Qian staring at the fish tank in the living room and asked in confusion, "It's so late, why aren't you asleep? What are you doing staring at the fish tank?"

Li Qian looked away, scratched his head, and said honestly, "Dad, Mom, I've awakened. I was just testing my Beast Taming Talent!"

"What! You've awakened!" Li Chengyang exclaimed in surprise upon hearing Li Qian's words.

He knew his son's Spiritual Power value.

He had estimated the breakthrough would happen soon.

But for it to happen tonight—just as he and his wife were discussing whether to buy a Spiritual Power Potion, just as they were fretting over it—was still a bit of a surprise.

The surprise was followed by sheer joy. "Right, son, what's your Beast Taming Talent?" he immediately asked.

"Dad, my Beast Taming Talent is the Eye of True Sight." Li Qian pointed to the Koi Carp in the fish tank. "I was just checking its information."

"The Eye of True Sight. Not bad, not bad at all. A very practical Beast Taming Talent." Li Chengyang nodded in satisfaction upon hearing this.

Although the Eye of True Sight wasn't a rare Beast Taming Talent, it was still quite good. Especially for a Breeder, its value far exceeded that of combat-enhancing Talents.

One had to understand that in this Beast Taming World, a Breeder, especially a skilled one, held a status no lower than a Beast Master.

The cultivation, evolution, food, potions, Skill development, and even research into things like Arrays for Pet Beasts—all of it was inseparable from Breeders.

The Beast Taming Civilization of this world owed its prosperity to the indispensable contributions of Breeders.

So, at that moment, Li Chengyang was already imagining his son becoming a widely respected Cultivation Master.

Han Yuqing had similar thoughts. "The Breeder at our Cultivation Base also has the Eye of True Sight as their Beast Taming Talent, and they're already an Intermediate Breeder. They've mastered the evolution method for the Flame Rat, and every time they cultivate a Pet Beast, the payment is in the tens of thousands."

Han Yuqing worked as a caretaker at a Cultivation Base.

She was very clear about the prospects of a Breeder, both professional and financial.

Seeing the joy on his parents' faces, Li Qian couldn't help but smile happily.

'In my past life, I was an orphan, all alone with no one to rely on. Having transmigrated and taken over this body, I've come to enjoy a rare familial warmth, and I cherish it all the more. It was precisely because I was steeped in this affection that, over the past three months, I've gradually integrated into this world and this family. The feeling of disconnect has almost completely disappeared.'

Since his parents were happy, Li Qian chatted with them a little longer.

The family of three talked until around two in the morning before finally going to bed.

The next day was a weekend, so he didn't have to go to school. Coupled with the fact that he had awakened his Beast Taming Space and his mind was at ease, Li Qian slept in for once, not getting up until half-past nine in the morning.

A quick glance around told him his parents had already left for work.

Even though it was the weekend, both Li Chengyang's construction company and Han Yuqing's Cultivation Base had been busy lately, so working overtime was a common occurrence.

He walked into the kitchen and, as expected, found that his mother had left him breakfast.

After eating breakfast, Li Qian thought for a moment, then got on his bicycle and headed straight out the door.

He rode his bike straight towards the South Suburb of Lingshui City.

His mother's workplace was in the South Suburb.

The Jiaoyang Cultivation Base.

Li Qian parked his bicycle, glanced at the gate of the Cultivation Base, and walked right in.

Since his mother had worked here for over a decade, Li Qian would occasionally visit, so he was quite familiar with the Cultivation Base.

He also knew the gatekeeper, Uncle Zhang. When the latter saw it was Li Qian entering, he didn't stop him.

He just assumed Li Qian was there to see Han Yuqing.

Besides, Li Qian always carried himself with a modest and polite demeanor, so Uncle Zhang had a good impression of him.

Just after entering the Jiaoyang Cultivation Base, in a patch of woods near the gate, Li Qian saw several "Fire Chickens."

Er, Red Feather Chickens.

Because they only knew one Skill, Little Flame, and its power was so pathetically weak it was said to be only good for lighting cigarettes, they earned the nickname "Fire Chicken."

It was also one of the "Four Wastes" of the Pet Beast Realm.

Currently, only one evolutionary path had been discovered for it, and it was unstable. Even if it did evolve, its Potential wouldn't even reach the Elite Level.

Having just awakened his Beast Taming Talent, Li Qian was still quite curious, so he didn't hesitate. After getting closer, he activated his Eye of True Sight.

[Name: Red Feather Chicken]

[Attribute: Fire]

[Level: Tier Two]

[Potential: Tier Three]

[Skills: Little Flame]

"Worthy of being one of the Four Wastes," Li Qian muttered to himself after seeing the Red Feather Chicken's information.

'I wonder if this Red Feather Chicken, like the Koi Carp, also possesses some kind of Powerful evolutionary form.'

'If I get the chance in the future, I could consider researching it.'

Moreover, Li Qian knew that the larger the population and the faster the reproduction rate of a Pet Beast, the higher its research value. This was because if any useful value was discovered, the benefits would be incredibly widespread.

It could even completely change the status of an entire Pet Beast species.

Take the Jungle Frog, for example. Although it was a Wood Attribute Pet Beast, its only Skill was Tongue Licking, and it was originally a member of the "Wasted Beasts."

Later, a Cultivation Master in Shanghai unlocked its Poison Element potential, allowing it to evolve into the Poison Swamp Frog with a Potential as high as Commander Level. It transformed in a flash, becoming one of the most sought-after Pet Beasts for novices.

After wandering around the Cultivation Base for a while, Li Qian quickly found his mother, Han Yuqing.

She was directing her Pet Beast, a Gray Bean Dove, to fly over a pond and drop food for the Pet Beasts in the water.

"Xiaotian, what are you doing here?" Han Yuqing was rather surprised to see Li Qian at the Cultivation Base.

"Mom, is the High Cultivation Master at the base today?" Li Qian immediately stated his purpose.

"You're here to see Master Gao?" Han Yuqing looked at Li Qian with suspicion.

Li Qian nodded. "Yeah, I have a question I'd like to ask Master Gao."

Han Yuqing furrowed her brow and thought for a moment. After a short while, she beckoned to Li Qian. "Follow me."

After following his mother, Han Yuqing, for about ten minutes, the two of them arrived in front of a small, white, three-story building.

"Wait here." After saying this, Han Yuqing walked into the small building with a respectful expression on her face.

A moment later, Han Yuqing came out, her face beaming. "You can go in, but remember to be respectful to Master Gao."

"Okay." Li Qian nodded.

Without hesitation, he stepped into the three-story building.

As soon as he entered, in the lobby of the small building, Li Qian saw someone completely different from the "Master Gao" he had imagined.

A woman!

Around thirty years old!

She was good-looking and had a certain charm, with an eye-catching head of slightly curled, wavy hair.

Although she wore a white lab coat, it couldn't hide her curvaceous figure!
