Most of these Deep Dimensional Rifts led to Second-Layer Elemental Planes, with a small number leading to the third layer.
The deeper the plane a Dimensional Rift led to, the more dangerous it was.
Most of these Dimensional Rifts were temporary. Permanent ones existed, but they were rare.
As far as Li Qian knew, the only large, permanent Dimensional Rift in the Shallow Elemental Planes was located in Flying Frost City.
This was also why Flying Frost City had been developed into one of the only two major cities.
Other permanent Dimensional Rifts were smaller; they were either sealed away or cordoned off with warnings.
This was how the various perilous zones within the Shallow Elemental Planes came to be.
The Dongxia Federation allowed these Dimensional Rifts to form perilous zones as a way to train its Adventurers.
These places were dangerous, but not excessively so.
