"What?" Phoebe Faulkner grew agitated. "Are they okay?"
"They're fine, basically. They just got thrown in jail and couldn't contact anyone to bail them out. I had to use my brother's connections just to find out where they were." Kitty paused, then said jokingly, "It wasn't your Handsome Mr. Lennox, was it? Is he really that jealous? He went after Chad and Howie, too?"
'Kitty was right. Who else but Jace Lennox would do something like this?'
'But to take on the local bigwigs on their own turf, get them thrown into the police station, and then keep them from getting out... That Jace Lennox...'
The more Phoebe Faulkner thought about it, the more her heart pounded with fear.
When Phoebe Faulkner didn't say anything, Kitty, on the other end of the line, assumed she was worried and quickly added, "Don't worry, they've been released now. It's nothing serious."
"Kitty, could you please do me a favor and go check on them? I probably can't see them for the time being."
