After Phoebe finished eating, she set down her bowl and chopsticks, showing no intention of doing the dishes. She even grabbed a napkin, wiped her mouth right in front of Jace, then turned and went upstairs.
Jace watched her back for a moment before looking away.
'She's so spoiled!'
After Phoebe went upstairs, she remembered what Jace had said—that after dinner, he would teach her whatever she wanted to learn.
'But she was giving him the cold shoulder. There was no way she was going to be spineless enough to go to him.'
'She refused to believe she couldn't learn it just by watching tutorials herself!'

Phoebe struggled until past ten o'clock that night but still hadn't managed to draw a single complete cartoon character on her computer.

She rested her chin on the desk, grabbed her hair, and gave it two hard tugs.
