Seeing Phoebe Faulkner so frantic she looked ready to attack him, Jace Lennox's eyes darkened. He grabbed her shoulders, forcing her to calm down. "For now, you will stay here quietly. Once you're shortlisted, I'll take you to see him."
Pinned down, Phoebe Faulkner was completely unable to resist. With red-rimmed eyes, she glared at Jace Lennox. She knew this was imprisonment in disguise, but she couldn't think of any way to escape.

'He knows full well that with my current skill level, it'll be incredibly difficult for me to be shortlisted.'
"Let go of me! I don't want to talk to you!" Phoebe Faulkner clenched her fists, spitting out the words.
"Just focus on your preparations." Jace Lennox didn't want to say any more. There was no point.
