"How did you know I would come to The Sovereign today?"

"I didn't know exactly which day you'd be coming," Preston Keaton said gently, "so I just had them keep things ready."
"Fresh ones every day?"

Evelyn Grant muttered, pained by the extravagance, "Good thing I came today, then."
'Everything she says sounds so adorable.'
Preston Keaton chuckled, his deep, warm voice flowing gently over the phone. "Didn't you have work? How did you finish so early?"
"It's a long story," said Evelyn Grant, her fingertips tapping lightly on a delicate petal. "Something came up, so I came back early. It's nothing major."
'Then again, it really wasn't a big deal.'
