Yara didn't struggle.
Ryan Hayes was holding her too tightly. She knew it was useless to struggle—it would only make him hold on tighter. She stood quietly for a moment, waiting for his emotions to settle before she spoke calmly.
"Can you let me sit down?"
It was a world of difference from the way she used to speak to him.
Ryan's expression stiffened, but he stubbornly kept hold of Yara's hand and pulled her down into the chair beside him.
Ever since Yara had moved out, he'd been suffering from insomnia. He would get two or three hours of sleep at most before a nightmare jolted him awake. Exhaustion was etched into his features. He gripped Yara's hand, unwilling to let go, terrified this was all just another dream. He looked utterly aggrieved.
"Where have you been these past two months? I couldn't find you."
Yara frowned. "Why were you looking for me? We broke up two months ago. I don't even understand why you denied it on Weibo."
