She woke up to a bright, sunny morning, but Preston Keaton wasn't by her side.
He must have gone to Apex by now.
Evelyn Grant remembered setting an alarm. She had wanted to wake up and help him get dressed, but Preston Keaton must have turned it off.
So she hadn't even seen him for a final goodbye this morning.
A pang of melancholy hit her, as if a piece of her heart was missing. She sat dazedly on the bed for a while, then sighed softly and resigned herself to getting up and ready for the day.
The maids had no idea she was leaving today. Even Butler Shaw looked shocked, as if he was only just hearing it from her now. "Does the Master know?"
Evelyn Grant nodded, her voice calm as she replied, "He knows."
Sophie Keaton arrived promptly that morning. The private jet was already waiting at the airport, and she shared Butler Shaw's confusion.
'Did my brother really have no reaction at all?'
'It's so obvious to everyone how much he likes Evelyn.'
