Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Days turned into weeks.

And weeks slowly turned into months.

But nothing really changed.

At least—not for him.

Every morning, he woke up with the same emptiness in his chest. For a few seconds, he would forget everything… and then reality would hit him all over again.

She was gone.

No message.

No explanation.

No goodbye.

Just silence.

The kind of silence that slowly eats you alive.

He still kept his phone beside him all the time. Even at night, he never put it on silent anymore.

What if she called?

What if she texted?

What if one day, out of nowhere, her name appeared on his screen again?

That "what if" became his biggest weakness.

Every night, before going to sleep, he would scroll through their old conversations.

The late-night chats.

The random jokes.

The "I miss you" messages.

Everything felt so alive back then.

And now… it all felt like a memory from another life.

"Why did you leave?" he whispered one night, staring at the ceiling.

The room didn't answer.

It never did.

Sometimes, he would type a message to her.

"I miss you."

"Please come back."

"Just tell me the truth."

But he never sent them.

Because deep down, he was afraid.

Afraid that she wouldn't reply.

Or worse—

that she would.

And say something that would break him even more.

He tried to move on.

He really did.

His friends told him to forget her.

"To start fresh."

"To meet someone new."

But how do you forget someone who still lives in your every thought?

How do you replace someone who felt like home?

One evening, he found himself standing in front of the same place where she left him.

He didn't even realize how he got there.

His feet just brought him back.

Like his heart still believed…

she might come back too.

He looked around.

Everything was the same.

The streetlight.

The empty road.

The quiet air.

But she wasn't there.

He let out a soft, bitter laugh.

"I'm still waiting…" he said under his breath.

It sounded pathetic.

But it was true.

No matter how much time passed,

no matter how much he tried to hide it—

He was still waiting.

For a message.

For a reason.

For her.

That night, as he walked back home, his phone vibrated.

His heart skipped a beat.

For a second, everything stopped.

He quickly took out his phone, his hands slightly shaking.

Could it be her?

After all this time…

He looked at the screen.

And froze.

Because the name he saw…

Was not the one he had been waiting for.

And yet—

It felt like something was about to change.

Something he wasn't ready for.

Something that would bring her back into his life…

In a way he never expected.
