He ignored Lucas Lockwood's defensive stance, his gaze looking straight through him to lock onto Josie Quinn. His voice was devoid of emotion. "She is the one person in this lab you cannot take away."
Only after he said this did he slightly turn his head.
His gaze finally fell upon Lucas Lockwood's tense face, a cold light glinting in his otherwise gentle eyes. "Lucas Lockwood, your father has already taken it upon himself to end your relationship with Cece. It's over between you. Or are you taking her out of here just to have her go through this all over again?"
"My father doesn't speak for me!" A chill radiated from Lucas Lockwood, and the temperature in the corridor plummeted. "Julian Ford! I don't want to do this here. On account of you being Cece's neighbor, I'm asking you to step aside!"
But Julian Ford looked as if he'd heard some kind of joke, the corners of his mouth lifting in a barely perceptible smirk.
His gaze shifted to Josie Quinn. "Cece, come here."
