Quinn Wynn shook her head. "No, he's a yellow-named merchant, so he can't enter the city. He won't even come near the city gates. But he has a lot of strange and useful items. Aren't you the least bit tempted?"
"Why come to me?"
"Huh?"
Faye Yardley asked again, "If he's that kind of merchant, a lot of people should be interested. Why did you seek me out?"
Quinn Wynn looked reluctant, but she still said, "Because I don't know many people I'm on friendly terms with. And more importantly, you have money."
Faye Yardley shrugged. "I'm curious about this traveling merchant you mentioned, but I can't leave Lumina to go on an adventure. Like you said, I have money. And when you have money, you don't need to take risks yourself, right? You should have heard the saying, 'A wise man doesn't stand under a crumbling wall.'"
Quinn Wynn wanted to say she'd never heard it, but she understood the meaning.
