"Nothing's changed!"
Stella Sterling looked up.
In response, Gordon Ford chuckled softly. "That's good, too!"
'Her not knowing how to answer means she's still hesitant. At least I'm not completely insignificant to her. Otherwise, if she didn't like me at all, she wouldn't have to be this conflicted. As for me, I've already told her my feelings and determination, and I'm not going to give up. It's enough just to let her know.'
With this thought, Gordon Ford's mood brightened considerably.
Looking at the woman beside him, her once long hair was now a neat short cut, lying softly but somewhat messily on her head.
He really wanted to reach out and run his hand through it, but just as he raised his hand, he put it back down.
The two of them just sat there peacefully, not speaking for a long time.
Then they both realized that it had been a very, very long time since they had sat together so quietly.
Gordon Ford, in particular, felt lost in a daze.
