Stella Sterling's casual words immediately sent Andrew Shaw into a panic.
"I'm going, I'm going! I'll go right now! Pork! We're eating pork! Miss, please don't take it away! I'll go get people to move it right now!"
He was already opening the car door and getting out as he spoke, before speeding off into the distance.
He nearly tripped several times, a clear sign of his extraordinary excitement and inner turmoil.
After all, he'd been living here for days, surviving on nothing but dry rations or watery soups and porridges so thin you could see the bottom of the bowl.
