Wanting to grant her daughter's wish, Yvonne placed her palm on the fox's head. Channeling her spiritual energy, she examined the fox's condition. She withdrew her hand and shook her head. "He's beyond saving. His core is damaged, and his vitality is fading. He only has a few more days to live."
Lina hugged the fox even tighter, becoming even more unwilling to let such a cute creature die. "Is there really no way to save him?"
"You only just found him. Pretend you never met him," Yvonne said, gently patting the top of her daughter's head.
"But I did meet him, and I want to save him. Mom, you must know a way, right?" Lina tugged on her mother's sleeve and looked at her with pleading eyes.
Yvonne let out a resigned sigh, realizing Lina wouldn't let the dying fox go. "There is a way, but I won't be the one saving him. You will."
"Me? Can I really do it?"
