Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Rudra Singhania sat on his grand leather chair, his eyes cold and unreadable.

Isha stood before him, not as a daughter of power — but like a girl pleading for her heart.

"Papa… I love Hridyansh," she said softly, her voice trembling.

"I won't be happy with Adarsh. No matter how perfect it looks from the outside... it's not what I feel inside."

Rudra's fingers tapped slowly on the armrest, his face stern and unshaken.

He didn't shout. He didn't argue. He just said, coldly:

> "Love? You're ready to throw away your legacy… for love?"

He stood up, walked around the desk, and faced her directly.

> "Do you even realise what this boy is? A middle-class dreamer who dared to reach too high."

But Isha, for the first time, didn't lower her eyes.

She met his gaze and replied — calmly, yet firmly:

> "He may not have wealth… but he has honesty. He has courage. He never pretended to be someone else. That's more than what Adarsh ever gave me."

Rudra's eyes darkened with fury. He slammed his hand on the table and stood up, his voice thunderous:

> "What honesty are you talking about, Isha? Did he tell you about Sameeksha? Was he ever honest with her?"

Yes, Dad… because I never confessed my love to him. I was the one who fell first. And yes — he truly tried to stay honest with Sameeksha. But sometimes, the heart doesn't follow rules. His heart was drawn toward me… and now, he's told her everything."

Rudra looked away, his jaw clenched.

> "And what about Sameeksha? She gave him her heart. Do you even know what it feels like to be left behind like that?"

Isha's voice trembled, but she stood her ground.

> "Yes, I know. Because I've been left behind once too… by you."

The words hung in the air like broken glass.

"What are you talking about?" he asked, his tone sharp with confusion.

Isha took a deep breath, her eyes moist but voice steady.

> "You always decided everything for me, Papa… my school, my career, even the people I was allowed to be around. You always wanted a daughter who followed your legacy — not one who followed her heart."

Rudra stared at her, speechless.

> "But today… I'm not that little girl anymore. I love Hridyansh. Not because he's perfect — but because he makes me feel seen. And I won't marry someone just to protect your ego."

"Call him here. Now," he said, his voice firm — not loud, but dangerously controlled.

Isha looked at her father for a moment, trying to read if it was rage or resolve behind his eyes. Then she quietly took out her phone and dialed Hridyansh's number.

Her fingers trembled slightly.

After two rings, Hridyansh picked up.

> "Hello… Isha?"

"Can you come to Singhania Mansion right now?"

"Is everything okay?"

"Papa wants to talk to you."

There was a pause. A long one.

Then Hridyansh said,

> "I'm on my way."

Isha looked at her father and said softly, "He's coming."

Rudra didn't respond. He simply leaned back in his chair, eyes locked on the door — as if already preparing for the storm that was about to enter.

Hridyansh entered the grand hall of Singhania Mansion, heart pounding but eyes steady. He stood tall in front of Mr. Rudra Singhania, who was seated like a king on his throne — calm on the outside, storming within.

Mr. Singhania looked him dead in the eyes and asked,

"Do you love my daughter?"

Without hesitation, Hridyansh replied,

"Yes, sir. I do. With all my heart."

Mr. Singhania's tone sharpened.

"And what if you cheat her the way you did Sameeksha?"

Hridyansh took a deep breath and answered,

"I never cheated Sameeksha, sir. I told her the truth. I never made false promises. But yes… I failed to stop my heart. I didn't handle things perfectly — but I never betrayed anyone. And I swear, I will never break Isha's heart."

Mr. Singhania leaned forward, eyes narrowed.

"I built this name over decades. I can't risk my reputation — not for love, not for emotions."

He paused, then added with cold precision:

"You have one month. Prove yourself. Earn a class, a status… something that makes you worthy of my daughter. If you do — I won't stop you. But if not…"

His voice trailed off with heavy finality.

"Forget Isha forever."

Isha gasped softly.

"Papa… this isn't fair—"

Mr. Singhania raised a hand.

"This is my final decision."

The room fell silent.

Hridyansh didn't argue. He looked at Isha — pain in his eyes, but also fire. Then he turned to Mr. Singhania and said:

"Thank you for giving me a chance, sir. I'll prove that love can come with worth."

And with that, the battle began — not of love, but of transformation.

Scene: One Month Later – The UPSC Result Day

The clock struck 11:00 AM.

The official website had crashed twice already.

Isha and Hridyansh sat together in silence, hearts pounding with anticipation.

Then finally — the result page loaded.

UPSC CSE – Final Result 2025

Isha's hands trembled as she scrolled down the list.

Row after row... and then —

Rank 3 – Hridyansh Mishra

Her eyes widened.

Tears gathered, and before she could stop them, they spilled down her cheeks.

"You did it, love," she whispered, her voice breaking with joy.

"You did it… you really did it."

Hridyansh couldn't speak. His eyes were fixed on the screen, his body frozen.

All the humiliation. All the silence. All the pain — it had led to this.

They scrolled further…

Rank 1 – Sameeksha Sharma

Silence.

Isha looked at the name, then at Hridyansh.

His expression was unreadable. But his voice, when it came, was soft… almost like a whisper.

"She deserves it," he said, a bittersweet smile forming on his lips.

"She always did."

Isha gently placed her hand over his.

"And you deserve every bit of your success too. You proved yourself, Hridyansh. To my father. To this world. And most importantly… to yourself."

Scene Cut: Rudra Singhania's Mansion – Same Evening

Mr. Singhania sat with the newspaper in his hand.

The headline read:

"From Intern to IAS: Hridyansh Mishra secures All India Rank 3"

He put the paper down.

His face remained still — but his eyes? They softened.

Isha stood quietly beside him.

He finally spoke, voice calm but heavy with meaning.

"He did it… And I gave him a month. A man who can rise like this… deserves everything he loves."

Isha couldn't believe what she heard.

"Papa… are you saying—"

He nodded.

"Yes, Isha. I won't stop you anymore. Go to him."

Scene: Singhania Mansion – Wedding Day

The mandap was glowing under the soft golden lights.

Flowers draped from every corner. The fragrance of roses and marigolds filled the air.

Guests whispered with joy, some with awe — because today, a middle-class boy was marrying the princess of a business empire.

Hridyansh Mishra, dressed in a cream sherwani with a subtle gold border, stood beside his bride.

Isha Singhania, in a crimson lehenga, looked every bit royal — but her eyes were filled with something far greater than grandeur:

Love. Peace. Completion.

The pandit chanted the final mantras.

Hridyansh held the sindoor box in his hand.

His hands trembled — not with fear, but with emotion.

He looked at Isha — she smiled, eyes shimmering with trust.

And in that moment…

He gently applied the sindoor on her maang.

Her eyes closed as the red line filled with love — not just as a ritual, but as a vow.

The crowd erupted in claps and cheers.

Mr. Rudra Singhania, once stern and cold, now had the warmest smile.

He walked up to them and blessed them both, saying:

"I always wanted a man worthy of my daughter.

Today, I am proud to call you my son."

Hridyansh bowed with folded hands, and Isha hugged her father, whispering:

"Thank you for trusting my heart."

Scene Shift: Singhania Office

Days before the wedding, Adarsh Birla had been exposed in an internal audit.

The fraud he had hidden for months finally surfaced.

Mr. Singhania made the call without hesitation:

"You're fired, Adarsh. You never deserved the chair — nor my daughter."

Adarsh left in silence — defeated not just by truth, but by dignity.

Scene: Wedding Farewell

As Hridyansh and Isha sat together in the car, headed toward their new life,

a message popped on Hridyansh's phone.

From: Sameeksha Sharma

"Happy for you both. Truly. Shine on, IAS Hridyansh. And Isha, take care of my favourite boy. ❤️"

Hridyansh stared at the screen, smiled softly.

Isha saw it and whispered:

"She really did love you, didn't she?"

He nodded.

"Yes… and somewhere, I'll always respect her for it."

Scene: One Month Later — A Calm Evening at Hridyansh & Isha's Home

The newly married couple sat on the couch, sipping coffee and scrolling casually through the news channel.

Suddenly, a breaking headline flashed on the screen:

> "IAS Sameeksha Sharma Engaged to the Dashing IAS Siddhant Mehta!"

— Nation's favorite crush now officially taken!

The anchor continued enthusiastically:

> "Siddhant Mehta, known not just for his intelligence but also his charming looks, has been one of the most eligible IAS officers in India. The news of his engagement with Sameeksha Sharma — UPSC topper and an inspiration for thousands — has taken the internet by storm."

Isha's eyes widened. "Whoa... Siddhant Mehta? Isn't he the one—"

Hridyansh nodded, smiling warmly. "Yep. The same. And she truly deserves someone like him."

He immediately picked up his phone and messaged Sameeksha:

> "Congratulations, Sam. Truly happy for you. Wishing you and Siddhant a lifetime of happiness and power together."

Moments later, a message popped back:

> "Thank you, Mishra ji ☺️ Our story turned out perfect too — just on a different path. Let's meet soon?"

---

Scene: A Few Weeks Later — Garden Café, Delhi

A beautifully lit rooftop café. The wind was gentle, the vibe relaxed. At a corner table sat the two power couples.

Sameeksha, glowing in an ivory suit, hand in hand with Siddhant Mehta, whose presence exuded quiet charm and strength.

Across them, Isha and Hridyansh, smiling, their fingers entwined under the table.

The air was not awkward — it was warm, nostalgic, peaceful.

Sameeksha raised her glass.

"To letting go of what wasn't ours… and embracing what was always meant to be."

Hridyansh smiled, "To growth, to maturity, and to no regrets."

Siddhant added with a grin,

"And to IAS spouses who are smarter than we are."

All laughed.

Isha glanced at Sameeksha and whispered,

"Thank you… for being the bigger person. For everything."

Sameeksha smiled,

"We didn't lose anyone, Isha. We just found ourselves."

The camera pans out — four people who once stood at the edge of heartbreak, now sitting in peace.
