Chapter 16 - Creating a channel

A yawn escaped my lips as I got up from bed, satisfied with the aesthetics and the quality of my new apartment.

My assistant had called late last night to inform me of the purchase and naturally he had added some extra touches to the place to fit my taste.

I had to say, even I was astonished by how efficient he was.

I'd probably thought I'd be spending a day, or two in that boring establishment with the lingering scent of disinfectant and sanitizers, however, my capable assistant came through for me.

The rest proceeded swiftly, Ash and I got into a sedan and drove all the way from the hospital to my new apartment, then settled in.

Ash seemed content with his own room, and so did I.

If I desired, I could accommodate about thirty more people.

I had that much room to spare.

But I couldn't picture myself filling the apartment with strangers I didn't know.

Neither was I inviting friends over.

Or family.

I could allow Ryu the access of visiting and staying for a while but that was the limit my magnanimity allowed.

'I guess the other players would've started.'

A thought randomly came to mind.

There was no doubt about it, the others would've begun random quests already in hopes of grinding exp.

'There's probably nothing worth watching for now.'

And I was certain my assumption was correct.

Except a few people in the global rankings open up a channel, the quests available wouldn't be able to sate the viewers.

"Hah…" I sighed.

Then got up from bed before strolling to the bathroom.

I had a list of things to do today.

This included retrieving my cat from my old apartment, along with a few other things.

Then officially moving away from my father's apartment.

It was up to him to make the decision, whether he wanted to disown me or not but as far as familiar relationship went, we were done.

After the relaxing bath, I picked out a black oversized pant and a casual white top which was equally as oversized as the pants.

What? I was short and pairing that with oversized clothing made people underestimate me, a lot.

I didn't particularly enjoy the attention of being a billionaire's son so whenever I went out I usually had a different aesthetic than my public image suggested.

Now for the cherry on top.

A black hat, a face mask and Voilà! You're officially a random Asian citizen anyone would glance at once and completely lose interest in.

But first…

"System."

[Player Alistar, How may I be of assistance.]

"Create a streaming channel, with the highest graphic quality and give me exclusive authority over it, I decide what to filter and what not to with it."

[Noted.]

[Ding! Channel #117 created.]

[Would you like to name the channel?]

"Yes."

[What would you like to name it?]

'Mmm… Alistar's goons? Nah. Alistar's money milkers… nope, I don't really need the cash.'

After a short two minutes of indecisive back and forth naming, a small smile graced my lips.

"The Veteran's Guide."

[Ding! You have created the channel, The Veteran's Guide.]

"Perfect."

And now, for a not so enjoyable family reunion.

It was time to get my cat.

Kang Chou-Bae, was in his personal study when he received a call.

It was a call from the chief of security, informing him of the arrival of his eldest son who was previously bedridden in the hospital.

Kang Chou-Bae barely suppressed a groan, while thinking how Tae-Min was going to be the death of him.

Unlike his youngest son, his eldest was a troublemaker, he was less like a son and more of a thorn.

Honestly he would have liked nothing more than to disown the brat but if he did that he knew he would be playing right into Tae-Min's hands.

For some reason, Tae-Min wanted to be disowned, even going as far as presenting himself as a failure.

But he knew better.

Tae-Min was smart.

The boy never made a move without a reason.

He had investigated the reason for his son's sudden behavior but found nothing besides the unusual bad blood his mistress and his child had.

They hated each other, that much was clear.

To the both of them the thought of even sitting together on the dinner table greatly repulsed Tae-Min.

Thankfully, the dislike didn't seem to extend to his second son Ryu-Min, the two actually went along just fine.

But when it came to him, it felt like Tae-Min was just disappointed, like he had no expectation of him as a father, and it irked him.

'Blame your mother for her infidelity.' He thought, then closed the book he was reading.

His hands fiddled with his outfit, adjusting it to look impeccable.

Once he was satisfied, he stepped out.

The elevator led down to the living room before parting with a soft chime.

Chou-Bae stepped out, his expression stoic but his eyes narrowed slightly the moment they fell on Tae-Min.

Or rather Tae-Min's casual outfit.

Tae-Min on the other hand was stroking his cat's fur, without a care in the world.

As Chou-Bae approached, Tae-Min spared him a glance.

He took off his mask, gave a smile which didn't quite reach his eyes then greeted.

"Father."

Chou-Bae didn't answer but Tae-Min didn't seem to care nor did he seem particularly offended, he just returned his attention to Lissy while ignoring his father's mistress who walked into the living room at that moment.

"You seem ok." Chou-Bae commented.

Tae-Min smiled.

"I've had worse."

His gaze met his father's mistress's eyes causing her to take a step back.

She didn't know why but despite the fact that Tae-Min was calm, she felt a chill just being in the same room as him.

The moment their eyes met, it felt so suffocating that she thought she would actually lose her life.

In the brief second their eyes met, his gaze was so lifeless and calm but she shivered, because what she had seen beneath the façade of calmness, was madness.

She subconsciously shifted towards Chou-Bae which made Tae-Min stifle a laugh.

For a few seconds, the living room was silent.

Then Lissy purred.

Tae-Min patted her back, then spoke without looking at his father.

"I recently got an apartment father, I came to inform you that I'm moving out, I believe that much courtesy should be given."
