Chapter 14 - chapter 14 God's Blessing

The empire believed in blessings.

Especially for royal children.

And so, on a bright morning, Oliver was taken to the grand church.

The bells rang softly as the royal family entered. Sunlight poured through colored glass, painting the marble floor in gentle colors.

Oliver sat in Charles's arms, looking around curiously.

So… this world has churches too…

Theo walked beside them, calm but alert. "This is only a blessing ceremony," he murmured.

Charles nodded. "It's tradition."

Oliver blinked.

Blessing…?

Inside, priests in white robes stood waiting. At the center, an older priest stepped forward with a warm smile.

"Welcome, Your Majesties… and the young heir."

Oliver stared at him.

The air felt… different.

Warm.

Soft.

Like something invisible was flowing.

Wait… what is this?

The priest raised his hand gently. "We will ask the heavens to bless the child."

Theo and Charles exchanged a glance, then nodded.

Oliver was placed on a soft cushion before the altar.

The priest began chanting quietly.

Light filtered through the windows.

The room grew silent.

Then—

A faint glow appeared.

At first, no one noticed.

Except Oliver.

His eyes widened.

Magic…?

Tiny particles of light gathered around him, like floating stars. The candles flickered though no wind blew.

Charles leaned forward slightly. "Theo… do you see—"

Theo's eyes narrowed. "…Yes."

The glow grew brighter.

The priest stopped mid-chant, surprised.

"Divine blessing…" he whispered.

Oliver felt warmth spread through his chest. Not painful. Gentle. Comforting. Like someone patting his head.

A soft voice echoed—only he could hear it.

Child of two hearts… you are protected.

Oliver blinked.

God?

The light wrapped around him, then split into two gentle streams—one pale gold, one silver-blue.

They sank into his small body.

The glow vanished.

Silence filled the church.

The priest slowly bowed. "The heavens… have personally blessed the heir."

Charles looked stunned. "Is… that normal?"

"…No," Theo answered quietly.

Oliver wiggled happily.

So… magic exists everywhere… interesting.

He raised his hand.

For a second—

A tiny spark flickered above his fingers.

Then disappeared.

Theo immediately picked him up. "…We should leave."

Charles nodded quickly.

The priests watched in awe as the royal family exited.

Outside, the breeze felt different.

Charles whispered, "Did he just… receive power?"

Theo looked at Oliver, who was chewing on his sleeve peacefully.

"…Yes," he said softly. "And we will keep it secret."

Oliver smiled sleepily.

Magic world… divine blessing… powers…

This life is getting more interesting. ✨
