Chapter 33 - Humungousaur, Way Big, and Anodite vs. Amalgam Kevin, Vilgax, and the Colossal Elephant

Chapter 33: Humungousaur, Way Big, and Anodite vs. Amalgam Kevin, Vilgax, and the Colossal Elephant

Amalgam Kevin drove a jagged, crystalline elbow directly toward Humungousaur's thick neck. The massive Vaxasaurian barely flinches. Humungousaur raised a heavy, scaled hand, caught the mutated limb mid-strike, and casually pried the claws open. With a single, fluid heave, he launched the chimera through the air.

Kevin's mutated form boasted a fraction of the power from ten different alien heroes, and his physical strength was no exception. Ten percent of Four Arms' raw muscle was nothing to scoff at, but against the pure, unadulterated physical might of Humungousaur, it was a joke.

Bang!

Metal shrieked as Kevin slammed into an abandoned sedan, caving the roof in completely. Glass shattered outward in a glittering wave.

"Ben Tennyson!" Kevin roared, pulling his mismatched body from the wreckage. "You're the one who made me a freak! Now I can't change back!"

Filled with bitter resentment, he charged again, blind with fury. Humungousaur simply planted his feet and delivered a devastating right hook. The punch connected with a sickening crunch, sending Kevin skidding across the asphalt once more.

Driven to absolute irrationality by his anger, Kevin was relying entirely on brute force, making him absolutely no match for Humungousaur. In a matter of minutes, the mutated teenager was beaten terribly. However, the brutal beatdown finally forced a sliver of clarity through his rage.

He spat out a glob of blood, glaring up at the towering dinosaur. "Dweeb! Do you really think I'm the only one who wants a piece of you?"

"What are you talking about?" Humungousaur growled.

Boom!

A deafening whistle cut through the air, sounding exactly like a falling missile. A concussive shockwave erupted just behind Humungousaur, kicking up a thick cloud of dust and pulverized concrete.

As the smoke cleared, a massive, familiar silhouette emerged from the debris. "He means this," a deep, mechanical voice rumbles.

"Vilgax! What are you doing here?" Humungousaur stared at the galactic warlord in shock. How could he possibly be working with Kevin?

Vilgax remained silent, his crimson eyes locked on the Omnitrix symbol, but Kevin quickly provided the petty explanation. "I ran into this guy while I was smashing up the city to frame you. He thought I was you at first. Started demanding some weird watch called the Omnitrix. Once we figured out we both wanted to crush you, teaming up was a no-brainer."

Humungousaur ground his teeth, his heavy tail lashing against the ruined pavement as he looked between Vilgax and Kevin, who were now boxing him in from the front and back.

"And where is the other child?" Vilgax demanded, his gaze sweeping the ruined bridge in confusion.

"Right here, you overgrown calamari!"

Vilgax snapped his head toward the voice. Standing atop a suspended cable was Diamondhead, his crystalline body catching the sunlight. Beside him floated Gwen, entirely encased in the glowing, ethereal pink mana of her Anodite form.

"Excellent. All the pests in one place," Vilgax sneered, his cybernetic muscles tensing. "Today, I will reclaim my Omnitrix!"

The tension snapped. Everyone on the bridge braced themselves to launch an attack. The chaotic battle was about to begin.

"Wait a minute!" Vilgax suddenly barked, raising a hand toward Diamondhead. The warlord was no fool; he knew this particular Petrosapien was operated by the anomaly. Ben and Klein felt entirely different in combat, and Vilgax knew Klein possessed the terrifying To'kustar transformation.

"Who cares what you want!" Diamondhead interrupted.

Bang!

"Ah!"

Diamondhead didn't obediently stop to listen to a villain's monologue. Instead, he launched himself off the cable and drove a massive, jagged diamond fist directly into Vilgax's face. The sheer kinetic force of the sucker punch sent the galactic conqueror tumbling backward, leaving Vilgax momentarily disoriented and wondering who the real villain in this scenario was.

Vilgax quickly dug his claws into the concrete, halting his skid. He wove through a barrage of diamond shards and a volley of pink mana blasts from Gwen. Ignoring the two of them entirely, he charged straight at Humungousaur, who was already entangled with Kevin.

"Your opponent is not me!" Vilgax roared over his shoulder. "Look at that ship!"

Diamondhead and Gwen instinctively glanced toward a massive cargo ship anchored in the bay near the bridge. It looked completely ordinary.

Boom!

A deafening crack split the air. The steel hull groaned and snapped perfectly in half from the middle. Shipping containers burst open, raining debris into the ocean.

A massive shadow rose from the depths. A tidal wave surged outward, crashing against the bridge's support pillars and spraying saltwater over the combatants. As the foam cleared, a colossal, mutated elephantine monstrosity—the Zobiesan—towered over the wreckage, its massive trunk thrashing the water.

"Hahahaha! Boy!" Vilgax taunted, glancing triumphantly back at Diamondhead. "Can you not transform into a To'kustar? I brought a playmate just for you!"

Vilgax turned his full attention back to double-teaming the Vaxasaurian. Seeing Humungousaur about to be overwhelmed by the combined assault, Gwen cursed under her breath and dove into the fray, hurling disks of pure mana to keep the two villains off her cousin.

Diamondhead watched the giant Zobiesan wade toward the bridge. He didn't waste a second. He leaped off the edge of the bridge, plummeting toward the churning water below. Mid-fall, his hand slapped the faceplate of the Another Omnitrix on his chest.

A blinding flash of ghostly blue light erupted beneath the bridge structure.

"Way Big!"

Boom!

The colossal To'kustar materialized, his massive feet slamming into the ocean floor and kicking up a tsunami that dwarfed the previous waves. The equally massive Way Big confronted the Zobiesan, and both behemoths charged forward simultaneously.

Bang!

Way Big met the mutant elephant head-on. Their hands and tusks collided, sending a shockwave rippling across the water's surface as they wrestled for dominance. The Zobiesan tried to push forward, but Way Big simply planted his feet, gripped the monster's thick hide, and twisted his upper body. With a grunt of exertion, the To'kustar flipped the colossal beast over his shoulder, hurling it through the air.

Boom!

The monster crashed into the bay with an explosive splash, sending even larger waves surging toward the shore. On the distant docks, Captain Steel watched the water displacement threaten the city. Knowing full well the old adage about mortals suffering when gods clash, he decisively signaled his S.A.C.T. troops. Despite his initial stubbornness and unwillingness to leave the scene, the sheer scale of the battle forced him to order a full strategic retreat under the repeated persuasion of his team members.

Back on the bridge, the chaos continued.

Gwen wove through the destruction, firing concentrated blasts of pink mana. She tried desperately to alleviate the pressure on Ben, but Vilgax and Kevin fought like rabid animals. They completely ignored the searing pain of her magical strikes, their eyes locked solely on Humungousaur.

Boom!

Vilgax and Humungousaur collided again, their fists creating a shockwave that cracked the asphalt beneath them.

Humungousaur sneered, flashing his flat teeth. "Vilgax, you don't seriously think that oversized circus freak can beat my cousin, do you?"

Vilgax pushed back, his cybernetic enhancements whining. "I never assumed he would. I only need him to stall that anomaly. Now, boy! Hand over your Omnitrix quickly!"

"Ben Tennyson is mine!" Kevin screamed.

Enduring Gwen's magic, Kevin's mutated body was covered in scorch marks and injuries. Though battered, he still threw himself recklessly at Humungousaur, claws extended. Vilgax, seeing the Omnitrix wielder knocked off balance, quickly flanked him. He was desperate to end the fight quickly; if he dragged this out any longer, he would be forced to run away again just like last time.

'What kind of insane grudge is this?' Gwen thought, floating above the melee. She knew Ben—the arrogant Dweeb—had a knack for getting under people's skin, but she didn't expect his ability to attract hatred to be this terrifyingly strong.

Her Anodite energy and mana constructs were incredibly potent, yet Vilgax and Kevin paid almost no attention to her attacks. They willingly let their bodies be torn apart just to desperately attack Humungousaur, proving how deep their obsession with Ben Tennyson and the Omnitrix truly ran.

However, it had to be said that while Ben often struggled with the finer points of combat, Humungousaur's durability was absolute top-tier. He took blow after blow from a galactic conqueror and a mutated chimera, getting knocked to the ground repeatedly, only to stand back up and act as if nothing had happened.

In any other location, Humungousaur wouldn't find this fight so difficult, because he could simply use his size-alteration ability to grow larger and crush them. But on this collapsing bridge, if he added any more mass, the entire structure would give way before any of them could land a decisive blow.

Vilgax's mechanical lungs heaved. Enduring the relentless bombardment of Anodite magic just to snatch the Omnitrix was a feat only he, Vilgax, could manage. As long as the elephant-nosed monster held on a little longer, the prize would be his.

With that thought, Vilgax risked a glance toward the bay.

The giant Zobiesan was floating on its back, frothing at the mouth, completely incapacitated by Way Big's relentless beatdown.

Vilgax hesitated for a fraction of a second, did a rapid mental calculation, and raised his wrist. A saucer-shaped mechanical drone descended rapidly from the clouds. Vilgax grabbed the landing struts and allowed the machine to pull him into the sky, making a quick getaway.

"Hey! Vilgax! Where are you going?!" Kevin yelled, watching his supposed ally abandon him without a second thought. Vilgax completely ignored the urgent call.

Boom!

Vilgax looked back from his ascending drone. A blinding flash of blue energy illuminated the sky. Way Big had crossed his arms, firing a devastating cosmic ray directly into the Zobiesan. The monster exploded in a spectacular eruption of light and water. Vilgax nodded to himself. Running away was absolutely the correct tactical choice.

Back on the bridge, the dust settled.

"Heh heh... heh heh heh... Hahahaha! Kevin! Looks like it's just you left!"

Humungousaur, who had been used as a punching bag for the last ten minutes, laughed as if possessed. Finally, it was his turn to beat someone into the pavement!

Kevin froze, sweating profusely. He looked to his left—Gwen was floating there, her pink eyes glowing with dangerous intent. He looked toward the bay—Way Big was turning his massive head, locking eyes with him menacingly. Finally, he looked back at Humungousaur, who was wearing a terrifyingly triumphant grin. The veins on Kevin's mutated neck bulged.

"Ben Tennyson! I'll fight you to the death!"

Kevin flared his insectoid wings and launched himself in a desperate, suicidal tackle, slamming into Humungousaur and pushing them both off the shattered edge of the bridge.

As they plummeted toward the churning water, a thick tether of pink mana lashed out. Gwen strained, wrapping the magical energy securely around Humungousaur's tail and halting his fall mid-air. Kevin, however, had nothing to catch him. He plummeted downward, crashing into the dark waves below with a heavy splash.

...

Sometime later, the Rustbucket cruised down the coastal highway, only to be flagged down by a military blockade. Captain Steel approached the driver's side. Grandpa Max calmly rolled down the window, offering a polite smile.

"Are you folks absolutely sure you don't know anything about those aliens?" Captain Steel asked, his eyes narrowing suspiciously.

"Positive, officer!" Max lied smoothly without missing a beat. "We don't know the first thing about any aliens."

In the back, Klein, Ben, and Gwen exchanged knowing smirks.

Captain Steel sighed, clearly unconvinced but lacking the authority to hold them. "Alright then. Have a safe trip. And... if you happen to run into that giant dinosaur alien, please thank him for me."

He stepped back and signaled his subordinates to clear the barricade, letting the old RV roll onward toward their next destination.
