Chapter 130 - Current Situation of the Server Continent

Chapter 130: Current Situation of the Server Continent

"Belle, do not be afraid! Charge directly into the fist!"

"I do not understand, Master Piximon! This is far too dangerous, pip!"

Venusmon: "..."

Perhaps it was merely a trick of the mind, but ever since Belle had cried out those words, Venusmon's strikes seemed to carry an even more terrifying ferocity.

Taiichi stood safely on the sidelines, watching Belle scramble desperately to evade. She clutched her head, darting through the dust clouds as the towering goddess pursued her relentlessly. A specific line of text involuntarily surfaced in the boy's memories.

[Venusmon — One of the Olympos XII, a Digimon overflowing with compassion who governs love.]

The reality playing out before his eyes, however, painted a drastically different picture. A single punch from her delicate hand seemed capable of splitting the heavens. A casual kick shattered boulders into fine powder.

While calling it world-ending might be a slight exaggeration, it was dangerously close to the truth.

'You call this gentle?' Taiichi thought, a drop of cold sweat sliding down his temple.

While Taiichi stood frozen in his thoughts, Mizuki materialized beside him without a single rustle of grass.

"What are you staring at? You look completely mesmerized."

The sudden voice right next to his ear made Taiichi jump. He spun around, clutching his chest, before his shock melted into a glare of deep resentment.

"Why do you walk without making a single sound?" Taiichi grumbled, his heart still hammering against his ribs. "You are literally like a ghost..."

"You were simply too engrossed in your sightseeing to notice." Mizuki rolled his eyes, utterly unfazed by the complaint. He shifted his gaze toward the dust-filled clearing where Belle and Venusmon continued their devastating spar. A moment later, a look of sudden realization washed over his features. He turned back to Taiichi, his eyes narrowing with a distinct, teasing disdain.

"Do not say another word!" Taiichi snapped, his hands flying up defensively.

Being close friends who understood each other entirely too well, Taiichi knew exactly what kind of nonsense was about to leave Mizuki's mouth just by reading that subtle, mocking expression. He lunged forward, slapping a hand over Mizuki's mouth.

He was, unfortunately, a fraction of a second too late.

"I am going to tell Kari that you were peeking at Miss Venusmon."

"I was not peeking at anyone! And why on earth would you bring Kari into this?!"

Facing Taiichi's frantic protests, Mizuki merely let out a low, amused chuckle. He patted Taiichi on the shoulder, his expression shifting into one of deep, mock-solemn emotion.

"Taiichi, you are a truly good person."

Taiichi blinked, his anger stalling. "Huh?"

"However, every human being has their imperfect side," Mizuki continued, his tone carrying the weight of a seasoned philosopher. "Just like in the ancient times, when Lord Gongjin passed away, Mr. Kongming traveled far to pay his respects."

Mizuki paused for dramatic effect, shaking his head sadly. "But when Mr. Kongming passed away, Lord Gongjin feigned his own death and refused to attend."

He offered a helpless shrug. "That is simply human nature. Many times, we just have to accept these harsh realities."

Taiichi stared blankly.

He understood every individual word leaving Mizuki's mouth. Yet, when strung together, the sentence formed a black hole of logic.

Never mind. Having spent more than enough time dealing with Mizuki's eccentricities and his deeply ingrained trollish personality, Taiichi knew better than to dwell on the nonsense.

"Speaking of which, where did Izzy go?" Taiichi asked, scanning the surrounding treeline. "He was standing right here just a minute ago, was he not?"

The moment the topic shifted to actual, serious matters, the playful teasing vanished from Mizuki's face, replaced by a sharp, focused calm.

"I just saw him rushing off in that direction." Mizuki raised a hand, pointing toward a dense cluster of trees to the east.

"Did something happen?"

"That way... is the exact direction of the sparring match between MegaKabuterimon and MetalGreymon."

Realization dawned on Taiichi's face. "It seems Izzy went to observe the battle up close."

"Most likely, he wants to analyze and simulate the special moves of Ultimate-level Digimon," Mizuki added, his voice carrying a note of quiet respect.

Taiichi sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "That guy... He just promised us he would not push himself too hard, and then he immediately runs off to do exactly that. Sigh."

"Is that so..." Mizuki nodded slowly, understanding the unspoken worry in Taiichi's voice. "If you need any help pulling him away from his screen, just say the word. As long as I can assist, I will step in."

Taiichi looked at the boy standing beside him. He reached out, clapping a hand firmly onto Mizuki's shoulder.

"You have already helped us more than enough. Leave these small matters to me." Taiichi offered a confident, determined grin. "After all, I cannot rely on you to solve every single problem for us."

"Alright. As long as you know what you are doing."

With a final nod, Taiichi turned and sprinted off in the direction Mizuki had pointed, his goggles bouncing with each step. Mizuki watched him go, offering a casual shrug to the retreating figure, before turning his attention back to the battlefield.

Just as the chaotic sounds of the spar had suggested, Belle was currently in an incredibly disheveled state.

The majestic, pure white wings of her Angewomon form were coated in a thick layer of desert dust and grime. Even the iconic silver half-mask covering her face had sustained damage, the metal partially shattered to reveal the stunning, gem-like eyes hidden beneath.

Panting heavily, Belle suddenly noticed Mizuki standing at the edge of the clearing.

She flinched in surprise. Her hands immediately flew up, desperately trying to cover her exposed face and dirt-stained armor.

"Mizu, do not look at me like this..." she pleaded, her voice trembling with a soft, embarrassed vulnerability. "I look so ugly right now..."

Her pitiful, battered appearance, combined with that incredibly soft, pleading tone, created a devastatingly sympathetic picture. Anyone lacking context would instantly assume that the towering Venusmon standing opposite her was some tyrannical beast mercilessly bullying a fragile maiden.

Witnessing this exact scene, Venusmon froze. Her glowing fist halted dead in mid-air.

Wait a minute. Why did she suddenly feel like the ultimate villain of this story?

With the atmosphere having completely derailed, Venusmon lost whatever remaining interest she had in pushing Belle's limits. She let out a long, unenthusiastic sigh, waving her hand dismissively. A brilliant flash of pink light enveloped her towering figure, shrinking rapidly until the familiar, spherical form of Piximon hovered in the air.

"Kid, have those intruders been dealt with, pip?" Piximon asked, gripping his spear.

"Yes, everything has been handled cleanly."

Mizuki stepped forward, opening his arms just in time to catch Belle as her data compressed, reverting her back into her petite Belfast Beast form. He held her securely against his chest, offering Piximon a reassuring nod.

As for the intruders they were discussing, the root of that particular problem traced back to the events of the past week.

Although only seven short days had passed since they established their temporary base, the time spent in the desert had been anything but peaceful.

Initially, Piximon had detected a few stray Digimon wandering into the perimeter of his hidden forest. A lush, vibrant jungle suddenly manifesting in the middle of a barren wasteland would naturally draw the curiosity of any passing creatures, so their arrival was not considered entirely unusual.

Upon receiving the initial reports, Mizuki and the DigiDestined had not paid the matter much mind.

However, as the days bled into one another, the trickle of curious wanderers transformed into a steady, desperate influx. The number of Digimon seeking refuge within the forest borders multiplied exponentially.

It was only then that Piximon and the children realized a much darker current was moving beneath the surface.

After distributing food and questioning the exhausted arrivals, a chilling truth emerged. These Digimon were not curious explorers. They were refugees, fleeing for their lives from distant territories.

As for the reason behind their desperate exodus...

"It is Myotismon!"

"That monster's forces have been ruthlessly kidnapping Digimon all across the Server Continent lately!"

"We heard whispers from a few kind-hearted travelers that a hidden sanctuary had appeared in the desert region. That is the only reason we risked the journey here."

The children had learned this grim reality from a trembling Shortmon, whose icing was melting from sheer terror. Hearing the name of the vampire lord, the DigiDestined, who already harbored a deep disgust for Myotismon, felt their hatred solidify into cold resolve.

"Although we do not know exactly what twisted scheme Myotismon is planning, we absolutely cannot allow him to continue running rampant," Taiichi had declared during their emergency meeting.

"Not just for our own survival, but for the sake of all these innocent Digimon. We have to defeat that villain!"

Driven by this shared conviction, the children had quickly reached a unanimous decision. Their intense combat training under Piximon could not stop for even a single day, but they also needed to locate their missing Crests with absolute urgency.

Only by unlocking that hidden power would they possess the strength required to challenge Myotismon's reign of terror.

After all, having barely survived the apocalyptic nightmare of Devimon's Mega-level form, not a single person in the group could guarantee that Myotismon would not also achieve a Mega-level digivolution.

Although the bizarre, chaotic encounter with Etemon had provided a brief interlude, the deep psychological trauma inflicted by Devimon's overwhelming darkness still lingered heavily in the hearts of the children. They had to be ready.
