The wind never stayed in one place.
It did not belong to the mountains it brushed against, nor to the rivers it danced above. It did not belong to the vast sky it traveled through, nor to the lands it crossed without pause.
The wind was free.
Unbound.
Untouchable.
And so was he.
A lone figure dashed across the sharp edges of towering cliffs, his feet barely touching the ground as he leapt effortlessly from one rock to another. His movements were light, almost weightless, as if gravity itself had no authority over him.
That figure was Vayu.
A boy who refused to stay still.
A boy who belonged everywhere, and yet nowhere at all.
The One Who Runs
"Vayu!"
A voice called out from behind him, echoing through the cliffs.
But he did not stop.
Of course he did not.
With a carefree laugh, he sprinted faster, his body leaning forward as the wind rushed past him. Reaching the edge of a cliff, he did not hesitate for even a second.
He jumped.
For a brief moment, his body hung in the air, suspended above the vast drop below.
Then the wind caught him.
A current of air lifted him gently, carrying him forward before lowering him safely onto another cliff.
"Too slow!" he shouted back playfully.
Far below, a few villagers watched him with a mix of frustration and disbelief.
"He's impossible," one of them muttered.
"He'll never settle down," another added.
But Vayu did not care.
Why would he?
The world was far too large to stay in one place.
Too alive to stand still.
A Life Without Chains
Vayu had never been interested in rules.
Or discipline.
Or responsibility.
While others trained endlessly to master their abilities, Vayu simply moved with the wind, letting it guide him without question.
He did not command it.
He did not control it.
And yet, the wind followed him.
As if it had chosen him.
"You're just like me," Vayu would often say, stretching his arms wide as the breeze swirled around him.
"You hate being tied down too, don't you?"
The wind would respond in playful gusts, circling him as if it understood every word.
To Vayu, that was enough.
He did not need control.
He only needed freedom.
The Night Everything Changed
Then came the night that shattered everything.
The sky cracked open as if reality itself had been torn apart. The ground trembled, and the air became unnaturally still.
Vayu stood motionless.
For the first time in his life, he stopped moving.
"What is this?" he whispered.
The wind had vanished.
Completely.
There was no movement.
No sound.
Nothing.
That had never happened before.
Then he saw them.
Figures.
Children, standing in a space that did not seem real.
Each surrounded by something different.
Fire.
Earth.
Water.
Light.
And one, wrapped entirely in shadows.
Vayu's usual carefree smile faded.
"So I'm not the only one…"
Before he could react further, the vision shattered, and the wind returned.
But something was different.
Something was wrong.
Something Feels Wrong
Days passed, but the feeling did not go away.
The wind was no longer the same.
It still moved, but its movements lacked the playful energy it once had. There was tension within it, a subtle unease that Vayu could not ignore.
He stood on a high cliff, arms open as he tried to feel it.
"Hey… what's going on?"
The wind responded, but not in the way he expected.
It felt distant.
Unfamiliar.
"You're hiding something," he said quietly.
The First Sign
Without warning, a powerful gust slammed into him.
Violent.
Uncontrolled.
Vayu stumbled backward, barely managing to keep his balance.
"That's new…"
The sky above began to darken rapidly. Clouds twisted unnaturally, colliding with each other as if something was forcing them together.
The air grew heavy.
The winds clashed.
"This isn't normal," Vayu said, his expression finally turning serious.
The Storm Awakens
For a brief moment, everything went silent.
Then—
A massive explosion of sound tore through the air.
A storm formed instantly, swallowing the sky in darkness. Lightning flashed violently, and the winds roared with terrifying intensity.
But this was not a natural storm.
It was controlled.
"Someone's doing this," Vayu realized.
From within the storm, a figure began to take shape.
A form made entirely of violent wind and shadow.
The Storm Entity.
The Fastest Battle
It attacked without hesitation.
A sharp gust sliced through the air, heading straight for Vayu.
He barely dodged it, twisting his body mid-air as the wind carried him away.
"Okay… now this is interesting," he said, a grin forming despite the danger.
He dashed forward, pushing himself faster than ever before.
But the entity matched his speed.
"What?"
For the first time in his life, Vayu was not the fastest.
Losing Control
The winds around him became chaotic, refusing to follow his movements.
"Hey… calm down," he said, trying to steady himself.
But the storm did not listen.
It grew stronger.
More violent.
"Why won't you respond?"
For the first time, Vayu felt something unfamiliar.
Not fear.
But a loss of freedom.
The Truth Hits
A voice echoed in his mind.
"You were never controlling it."
Vayu's eyes widened.
"What?"
"You were just moving along with it."
The realization hit him harder than any attack.
"And now that something stronger is here… you're being left behind."
"Left behind…?"
The words cut deep.
The Turning Point
Vayu landed roughly on the ground, his breathing heavier than before.
"So that's it?"
His expression changed.
Serious.
Focused.
"You think I'm weak because I don't control it?"
The storm roared louder in response.
"Then I'll show you."
Becoming the Wind
Vayu closed his eyes.
For the first time, he did not run.
He did not move.
He stood completely still.
"If I want to keep up… I have to understand you."
The wind surrounded him, wild and chaotic, pressing against him from all directions.
But he did not resist.
"You're not just freedom," he said quietly.
"You're power."
"Speed."
"Destruction."
His eyes opened again, sharper than ever before.
"And I am all of that."
Awakening of the Wind
For a brief moment, the storm paused.
Then it shifted.
The winds began to bend toward him.
Aligning.
Flowing.
Obeying.
Vayu moved.
And this time, the storm followed.
Final Clash
He dashed forward, faster and stronger than before.
The entity attacked again, sending waves of cutting wind toward him.
But Vayu did not dodge.
He cut through the air itself, redirecting the attack with precise control.
"You're not faster than me," he said.
In an instant, he appeared behind the entity.
"Because I am the wind."
With a final strike, the storm collapsed inward, its energy dispersing into nothingness.
Silence returned.
The sky cleared.
The Child No More
Vayu landed softly on the ground, his breathing steady.
The wind moved around him once again.
But it was different now.
It was no longer playful.
It respected him.
Vayu looked at his hands for a moment before letting out a small smile.
"Guess I can't just run forever."
He looked toward the horizon.
"But I won't stop moving either."
Final Scene
Standing at the edge of the cliff once more, Vayu gazed into the distance, as if searching for something beyond what his eyes could see.
"You guys…"
Fire.
Earth.
Water.
Light.
Shadow.
"I'll find you."
The wind rose beneath him, lifting him gently into the air before carrying him forward.
Toward something greater.
Toward destiny.
Far away, hidden within darkness, a figure watched in silence.
Tamraj.
A quiet chuckle escaped his lips.
"The wind awakens," he said softly.
"Now things become truly interesting."
