Meanwhile…
In the center of the camp, Josh and Nolan were fighting off some orcs. Josh swung his sword, slashing his sword at the monster's body. He ripped his skin but was unable to kill him.
'Put forth 2500 value. Bet that I can kill this monster in my next attack.'
He activated his attribute, saying strange words and phrases. He swung at the beasts again, cutting it in half. A grin formed on his mouth as his strength suddenly, increased. Nolan got a boost too as he cut down several goblins with ease. He glanced to the side, seeing Matthew struggling as well. Nolan gritted his teeth and moved forward.
'Survive…'
But their hopes of survival would soon be diminished to dust A white robed – bald headed figure slowly approached them. Both enforcers' pupils dilated as the man approached. His lips parted as he said in a mused tone.
"Interesting…you have quite the unique attribute…to be able to increase by betting…"
Nolan stood in front of Josh. Matthew also rushed to their side, holding his blade.
"I'll take him." Matthew stated, stepping forward.
Josh nodded and gripped his captain's shoulder.
'Transfer 25 shares to executive Matthew for thirty minutes.'
His attribute worked and yet again, he spoke strange words. Matthew felt a surge of power flow throughout his entire being. His body – his mind – his soul felt refreshened and boosted. He smirked and rushed forward. He swung at the demon but in the next instant…
His eyes widened as his foe defended with his mere arm. The blade slid across as if it were pressing against another metal. Matthew didn't continue further and jumped back. He had not words to speak – only the will to survive. He gritted his teeth and activated his attribute, covering the demon in a barrier. The demon glanced at it curious as he was lifted.
"This attribute…it's similar to his…"
The demon made a strange comment but the lieutenant general paid it no mind. He waved his hand and the barrier sped towards the tree. In the last second, the barrier disappeared making the demon crash against the wood but his expression didn't change. The barrier reappeared as Matthew revealed another aspect of his attribute. The demon flinched, feeling immense pain rush throughout his body.
He fell to his knees as the pain continued.
'This attribute can target a person's nervous system directly…? Amazing…'
The demon thought, coughing up blood. A few seconds later, he fell down but Matthew didn't stop there. He threw the barrier again, thrashing the bald man around and turning off the barrier at the last second to deal more damage. Eventually, he stopped. Blood poured from his nose. He wiped it off as veins popped on his forehead. Matthew fell to his knees, feeling he had defeated the demon but…
A gust of wind blew past him as he saw feet in front of him. He lifted his head in horror. The bald demon stood – unfazed. Blood stained his robe as he reached out his hand. He touched Matthew's forehead before…
It vanished like dust in the wind. Josh and Nolan froze. Their captains head evaporated into the air, broken int molecular pieces within a fraction of a second. They couldn't move for a moment as the demon wiped the blood off his head. Then, he looked at them and…smiled.
"You can take them."
He addressed another fellow. The two stood confused as a breeze passed them. Josh glanced to his side. He saw a spear piercing Nolan's heart. He froze again – unable to process what was happening.
'What…? Huh…? No…lan…?'
Nolan didn't respond – he couldn't. He coughed, blood staining his shirt. He looked at his friend with crying eyes as blood continued to pour out of his mouth. He smiled crookedly as if trying to reassure his shocked mate. Then, as his vision faded to back, he could only focus of Josh who looked at with a horrified face. Nolan's cold body fell to the ground, the scent of blood lighting up the battle field. The naked demon sung his spear and cleaned the blood off with his hands.
"Good job." The other demon said.
"No problem." The naked one replied, disappearing from his sight.
Then, the white-robed demon turned around, locking onto Josh. Josh flinched, frightened by the demon's dark aura. His stomach lurched so violently he almost vomited.
'I need to increase my strength by twentyfold if I want to beat this guy…time to gamble…'
Josh narrowed his eyes as the demon approached. He blitz him, trying to strike in the stomach with his palm. Josh's pupils dilated, shocked by his speed. He rotated his body, trying to roll his attack off.
'Put forth 4000 value that I can survive this…!'
He dodged the attack and suddenly, his strength increase fivefold. He felt a surge of energy probably stronger than Nolan's. He smirked and turned around, seeing the demon in the same position. The demon stood straight and locked eyes with him. Josh tried to move but right then…a sting of pain shot throughout his being.
He gasped and looked towards the part where the pain was coming from. His face turned from pain to horror as he saw that a chunk of his side had been blown off.
'From just touching me…?!'
His jaw dropped as he felt an indescribable fear overcome him. The demon approached and halted near the enforcers. Then, it stabbed Josh through the stomach with a quick jab. Blood burst from Josh's mouth. He fell to the ground, slowly bleeding to his demise. The demon glanced at him again and then…left. He rapidly lost strength as his vision faded to black. The last thing he saw was the battlefield covered in smoke, explosions, monsters and blood.
Mercy was far from this place.

A few meters away from the corpses of his teammates was Major – the last surviving member of the PEOC special ops lieutenant general's team. He ran – He ran like a wild animal, avoiding the goblins that were hunting him. His stamina was running low from fighting and worse, he couldn't find his friends anywhere.
'Damn it!'
He gritted hi teeth and hide climbed a tree. The goblins huddle around, trying to reach. Major caught his breath, clutching his cheat while holding his katana in the other hand. At first the monsters tried to cut the tree down but that took too long. Then, a bulb lit in their murderous minds. He climbed atop one another and formed a ladder to the enforcer.
"These motherfucker have a brain…?!" Major muttered in shock as they goblins licked their lips.
'They're too short to climb the tree so they did this!'
He kicked a monster off as it was trying to climb the ladder. Then, using his blade, he cut the goblins closest to him and pushed the rest down. The monsters squirmed and screamed at him. Major smirked – amused by them. Then, they scattered. Major raised a brow – confused but soon it would all make sense…
From the smoke, a massive ogre emerged. Major body limped – hope vanished as the tree-sized monster approached. He crouched and sprung onto its face and flipped off it. He rolled onto the ground. Then, he tried to escape. The goblins blocked his path, tripping him over. As he was recovering, the ogre approached. It grabbed him by the leg and raised him. The officer panicked, trying to cut his enemy's hand.
"Son of a bitch! AHHH!!"
The ogre grippe Major's arm, making him let go of his blade. The enforcers pupils dilated.
"No…No – No – No, GOD NOOO!!!"
The monster gripped him with two hands and…bit down on his body. Major instantly died – feeling no pain. Blood covering the killer's mouth. The goblin licked the remains clean and threw it away. Major's lifeless body crashed into the ground, near his teammates body. Yet, he couldn't react – couldn't cry – couldn't be devasted as he was already with them
