Chapter 186 - Flee

Above the beach, Dante, Bellum and Victor watched Missio battle the chaos fragment. Victor stood behind his two friends who were sitting on the edge. Dante leaned forward, observing Missio closely.

"Look at my little brother, fighting those chaos beasts so heroically."

"Your love for him is… quite overwhelming sometimes." Victor commented.

"Of course, he's my little brother. I love him to death." Dante turned around.

"But this isn't a challenge for him… I don't even think that sword of his is getting stuck." Bellum leaned back.

Dante smiled. Just as he was going to respond, Missio's phone rang loudly. He stopped and lifted it to his face. Krishna's name flashed across the screen. Dante stood up and spun around.

"One moment." He picked up the call, waving at his friends.

Victor and Bellum glanced at him before turning their attention back to Missio. Dante heard Krishna's voice cut through the air, calling out for Missio in a panicked voice.

"This is Dante."

He paused for a moment.

"No… he's busy right now. What do you want to talk about?"

The next second, the supreme commander froze in place. As he continued to listen to Krishna, he impulsively nodded.

"Okay – Okay… where is she right now?"

Krishna replied to his question. Dante curled his lips.

"Alright, Good… she isn't injured or anything right? No aftereffects?"

Dante tilted his head, pressing Missio's phone to his ear.

"Okay, that's good… don't panic, Krishna. She'll be fine. I'll get a report on her soon then; we'll send her off to Stratos to do her Master's."

Dante strolled through the grassy plains.

"I know you're stressed but it'll be okay. Is Henry – Are Henry and Eira there? Did you tell them?"

Dante halted.

"They're coming? Alright, just make sure she's in tip-top condition. The hospital will provide all the things she needs but you and the others will have to be there for emotional support."

Dante nodded as he heard Krsihna's response.

"If she has any questions, answer them. She needs to be prepared. I can't give special treatment to a singular chaos incarnate. As the supreme commander, I must treat everyone equally. You're one of her anchors. Do good."

Dante heaved a sigh of relief. He pulled the phone away from his ear and cut the call. He paused for a moment, a cold breeze sweeping past him. He spun around and headed back to the edge. Victor noticed him approaching and tilted his head.

"Who called?" he inquired.

"Krishna." Dante responded, halting near his friend.

"Krishna? Why?"

"The question should be," Bellum interrupted them. "Who the hell is Krishna?"

Victor turned towards him, sneering. "He's Missio's friend."

Bellum raised a brow. "Missio's friend? What does he want?"

"I was just about to get to that…" Dante sighed, wiping his face.

Bellum and Victor turned towards. The supreme commander drew a sharp, his lips parting.

Below, Missio shredded another beast in half. He pulled his sword down, curving it. He shot it to the side, cutting three monsters in half. As their torsos fell to the ground, Missio pulled back in a fraction of a second. He pressed his foot forward. He pointed the tip forward. The sword shot forward, breaking the sound barrier. It stabbed all their hearts, making their bodies go cold. Another beast leapt above Missio.

Missio lifted his head as its shadow covered his face. He bent his knees slightly. He pushed off, flying into the air. His wrists twisted. The sword lodged itself into the monsters body. Blood burst out from the wound. Missio flapped his wings as the chaos beasts corpse fell. He flipped upright, hovering above the battlefield. He stared at the countless corpses, shaking the blood off his blade. He lifted his fingers, furrowing his brows.

The next instant, he created several weapons. They shot towards the beasts. They howled in pain as the sharp metal pierced their skin. But the next second, the steel dissolved. Missio clicked his tongue.

"The damn blood…"

He scratched his head, thinking of a way to counter the chaos beasts corrosive blood. After a few seconds, an idea popped in his mind. He grinned. Snapping his fingers, multiple daggers made of gold and titanium manifested. Without wasting another second, they shot forward, breaking the sound barrier. The beasts lifted their heads. The daggers hit their skin but… it didn't go as Missio expected.

"Huh?" He blurted.

The dagger forged from gold bent as soon as they grazed the beasts skin while the titanium forged dagger bounced off their skin entirely. Missio frowned. He raised his hand once more – planning to create more weapons. However, just then, he heard something cut through the air above him. His head snapped up. He narrowed his eyes. In the distant sky, he saw a black jet streaming through the heavens.

"Special ops…?" Missio blurted. "Alright…"

He exhaled heavily and sped away. He landed on the cliff, beside his big brother. He exited his transformation. The armor and sword disappeared from sight as he spun around. Dante patted his back.

"How'd it go?"

"Felt pretty nice… but my daggers didn't work." Missio replied.

"Gold and Titanium are anti-corrosive metal. You got that much correct." Bellum stood up. "But they're terrible for making any weapon. That was stupid of you – extremely."

Missio sneered. "I didn't know. I'm not a blacksmith."

"Sure." Bellum threw Missio's longsword. "You aren't but I don't care."

Missio caught his sword, shrugging the commander's comment off. As the group was about the leave, Dante realized something.

"Right! No evidence." He spun around as the special ops dived off the jet.

He activated his attribute, lightning dancing around him. The clouds above rumbled, bending to his authority. Lightning split the battlefield below the cliff, vaporizing all the weapons Missio had created. As the special ops opened their parachutes, Dante deactivated his attribute and rotated.

"Let's go." He urged.

He placed his hand on Missio's and Victor's shoulders. The special ops landed and began battling the chaos fragment. Missio turned to Bellum, opening his mouth.

"So, is training cancelled?"

"Yeah." Bellum nodded. "I'll teach you Form 7 tomorrow."
