Chapter 29 - Maximum Technique

After the Goodwill Event concluded, Satoru gathered all the first-years at Jujutsu High to provide individual guidance, which could be considered him finally fulfilling his responsibilities as a homeroom teacher.

Shin recalled the teaching ability Satoru had displayed and suddenly didn't want to listen to his guidance anymore. After all, it was really hard to trust Satoru, who didn't even correct but instead encouraged what Yuji called "Divergent Fist".

"Shin... you aren't thinking about anything rude, are you?"

"Huh? Gojo-sensei... I... maybe a little..."

Satoru reached out and tapped Shin on the head before saying, "Listen up, Shin. I believe you're already terrifyingly strong right now. Sometimes I even wonder who is actually stronger between you and Yuta, but you still aren't perfect."

"Your short-term goal is to learn Reverse Cursed Technique. While you're researching Reverse Cursed Technique, I reckon you can finish up your Maximum Technique along the way. That's decided."

"As for this Maximum Technique thing... as long as you activate your Cursed Technique enough times and get proficient enough, you'll naturally master it. It's super simple."

Shin sighed helplessly and agreed to Satoru's request.

In truth, after his domain radius expanded to 218 meters, no matter how many Cursed Spirits he killed, nothing changed, and he didn't know what use the extra experience points had. Now it seemed it had something to do with the Maximum Technique.

Maximum Technique, a form of expression where a Cursed Technique reaches its peak. It is almost on the same level as Domain Expansion. It's just that the two have different focuses.

Maximum Technique is simply releasing the Cursed Technique to its maximum limit, while Domain Expansion requires combining the Cursed Technique with Barrier Technique.

For example, in that battle between Jogo and Sukuna, Jogo didn't choose to use Domain Expansion against Sukuna, but instead used the more powerful Maximum: Meteor. Although it didn't cause effective damage, the power of the Maximum Technique was evident.

'Maximum Technique means unleashing everything of the Cursed Technique. Then experience points should also be a part of the Cursed Technique.'

Shin sat cross-legged in the shade of a nearby tree and took out a Netherite Sword, placing it on his lap.

'My Cursed Technique can create items from Minecraft and use them just like Steve but I have no idea what form the Maximum Technique should take.'

Shin simply gave up on thinking and just kept activating his Cursed Technique to create Enchanted Golden Apples. His Cursed Energy actually wasn't that abundant. Crafting Enchanted Golden Apples at full output like this wouldn't allow him to make many—half a stack was about his limit.

Why Enchanted Golden Apples and not something else?

Because crafting Enchanted Golden Apples took the longest time, allowing him to perceive the process of the Cursed Technique's activation more carefully.

Shin didn't take out the first ten Enchanted Golden Apples he crafted because the weight of a single Enchanted Golden Apple was somewhat absurd, equivalent to the mass of eight cubic meters of gold. The reason Shin hadn't let others eat them was simply because they were too heavy.

When crafting the eleventh to twentieth ones, Shin seemed to have an epiphany. He was holding an Enchanted Golden Apple in his right hand, and suddenly, a few experience orbs appeared in his left hand.

'Ah... so I hadn't noticed... are these experience points the core of my Cursed Technique? No! Rather than calling them experience points, it's more like this is just one form of its expression. So then... I've finally seen the outline of the Maximum Technique!'

The twenty-first Enchanted Golden Apple and the experience orbs drifted into the air simultaneously and gradually fused together. The Enchanted Golden Apple, which originally emitted a purple light, was now shining with iridescent radiance.

Shin ate this Enchanted Golden Apple. Just as he had thought, this apple granted him effects including, but not limited to, Strength X, Speed X, Regeneration X, Absorption X, Resistance X, and so on. Or rather, this apple was crafted exactly according to what was in his mind.

Maximum: Overworld!

The crafted items became the vessel for Shin's will. As long as Shin wanted them to have certain functions and input sufficient experience points, he could create items that were once unimaginable.

However, outside of his domain, the item's abilities would be limited by its base form. For instance, you couldn't ask a Netherite Sword to have the same abilities as an Enchanted Golden Apple, nor could you use a TNT to resurrect someone.

That's how it is outside the domain.

Inside the domain, there are only two words to describe Shin: No Taboos.

Giving the ground the properties of lava, and adding some Wither and Poison effects, that's just a basic operation.

Furthermore, as long as the item isn't destroyed, the experience points within the item can also be recovered.

'I'm running low on experience points again. I should go find some Cursed Spirits to borrow some from.'

Shin believed that after a Cursed Spirit was exorcised, it would regenerate after a period of time, so it couldn't be considered dead at all. That was why he considered the experience points to be "borrowed."

By the time Shin opened his eyes again, several hours had already passed. Satoru was lying next to him as if sleeping, but as soon as Shin moved, he woke up immediately.

"Shin, you've improved quite a bit. I smell a dangerous scent on you."

"Yeah, Gojo-sensei, it counts as some improvement, but I'm still not very proficient. I think the potential of this move can still be increased."

"No need to rush. Let's eat first. You've only had breakfast all day today, right?"

The two talked as they walked toward the cafeteria.
