Chapter 47 - Fiddling With the Command Block

Boom!

A trident emitting a purple glow pierced through a derelict building.

Shin slowly walked out from the large hole the trident had carved into the structure. He pulled the trident, still stained with specks of purple Cursed Spirit blood, from the ground and retracted it.

"Alright, that's another Grade 1 Cursed Spirit added to my performance record. I can slack off for the rest of the month."

He made a note in his booklet and left the unfinished building, whistling happily. As for the traces of battle left behind, they would naturally be handled by the professional Assistant Supervisor and members of the Window.

In the past week, Shin had already exorcised at least fifteen Grade 1 Cursed Spirits and twenty Grade 2 Curses, with countless other pieces of trash spirits. He couldn't imagine that so many Cursed Spirits were hidden in just this small area of Tokyo.

If he didn't have a Compass that could locate Cursed Spirits, he wouldn't have been able to find those that were well-hidden.

'Fortunately, Cursed Spirits basically never leave the place where they were born. Even more fortunately, the places where they are born are usually gloomy and deserted. Otherwise, having this many Cursed Spirits would be like having a dozen tanks driving into a residential area.'

He pulled a piece of purple, translucent substance from his robes and constructed a door-like object in front of him. Specks of purple light particles swirled around the door, making it look even more eerie.

This was none other than the Nether Portal. Shin had already visited the Nether and the End, only to find that there were no living creatures there.

The Nether contained only a sea of scorching lava, the vast and strange Warped Forest, and the grand, magnificent Nether Fortresses.

There was no Ender Dragon in the End, only those massive Obsidian Pillars stood tall on the End Stone Floating Islands.

As for the purpose of taking out the Nether Portal now... it was naturally to use his Maximum Technique to turn it into a real portal.

Accompanied by the input of experience points, the originally purple Nether Portal slowly radiated a rainbow-colored light.

Shin stepped into the portal and in the blink of an eye, he appeared in the dorms at Jujutsu High. The portal behind him dissipated into rainbow light particles in mid-air once he left the effective range of the Cursed Technique.

As for this portal in the Jujutsu High dorms, Shin had specifically placed a Command Block to prevent it from despawning. Yuji had moved his room next door, which was also within the range of the Command Block. Shin had provided him with a whole chest of Cooked Steaks for healing, which resulted in him not appearing in everyone's sight at Jujutsu High for two or three days.

Oh, and by the way, Yuki had returned from abroad. At Satoru's request, Yuki took Nobara with her for training, so Nobara had temporarily left Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Junpei leaves the dorm early every day and returns in the middle of the night covered in bruises, often stopping by to use some of Yuji's Cooked Steaks to recover from his injuries.

As for Megumi... he is training his Cursed Energy capacity and Domain Expansion. After all, his mana bar is a bit short compared to Yuji's, though it's still much larger than Shin's.

Currently, the idlest person at Jujutsu High is Shin. Every day, he only has two things to do: exorcise some Cursed Spirits and research the Command Block.

Shin had tried everything—Cursed Energy, experience points, blood. None of these common methods worked.

He even tried shouting "Open Sesame" or kowtowing three times, but it was still useless. As for the various switches from Minecraft, like levers, he had flipped them so much that sparks were flying, yet there was still no reaction.

"Ugh... this is so frustrating. You stupid Command Block, can't you be useful for once? Even giving me an ice cream to cool me down would be fine."

Buzz—

To Shin's surprised eyes, the Command Block suddenly emitted a faint glow. In the blink of an eye, a three-scoop ice cream appeared in Shin's hand. The three scoops were even different flavors, and the top was sprinkled with cookie crumbles to enhance the texture.

Similarly, his experience points were consumed by a tiny sliver, almost invisible to the naked eye.

"Huh?"

The Command Block had been in an active state waiting for Shin to give a command from the very beginning, but Shin just didn't know it. He had been repeatedly giving the Command Block the instruction to "boot up," and the Command Block had carried it out perfectly.

If the Command Block had a consciousness, it would probably be pointing at Shin and cursing him out by now.

"Boot up, boot up! I'm already booted up! You're still there yelling boot up! Just give me a command already!"

Shin took a huge bite out of the entire top scoop of ice cream, giving him a brain freeze that made his whole head ache.

"Phew... At least the result is good. Now I can test the functions of this Command Block."

"/kill... actually, never mind. Change weather to thunderstorm."

Just to be safe, Shin used a command that caused almost no damage. The moment the command was issued, a clap of thunder exploded outside the window, followed by a torrential downpour.

Shin immediately pushed open the door and walked out, wanting to see the range of the thunderstorm.

"It's not sixty-four meters. This range is... a radius of two hundred and eighteen meters, the same size as my Domain?"

Shin immediately returned to the room and deactivated the command. This roughly one minute of rain consumed about a quarter of a level of experience points, which wasn't exactly cheap.

"I need to go collect more experience points again but there's one more thing to confirm."
