Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 23: The Second Day – Heaven’s Fury

The morning after the Goddess's first descent dawned blood-red.

The Blackfang Mountains were scarred but standing. The Void Empire had held. But the cost was visible everywhere — shattered peaks, burned forests, exhausted warriors.

[Time Remaining: 1 day 23 hours]

I woke up in human form on the command ledge, Elara curled against my side. My body ached in ways infinity couldn't fully erase. The battle with the Goddess had pushed even my double-infinite stats to their limit.

Nyxara was the first to greet me, floating above with a grim smile.

"She's angry now. Really angry. I can feel it in the fabric of reality. Today will be worse."

Lirael landed nearby. "The alliance is ready. But many are tired. We must strike hard and fast before she recovers."

Sato approached, armor repaired but face serious. "Scouts report the Divine Spire is mobilizing everything. This isn't a probing attack anymore. She's coming to end it."

I stood up, feeling the weight of every life depending on me.

"Then we don't wait. We hit the Divine Spire today. All-out assault."

The plan was simple and insane:

Main force defends the mountain.

Elite strike team (me, Elara, Nyxara, Sato, Lirael) launches a direct assault on the Divine Spire while the Goddess is still recovering.

We launched at noon.

I flew at the head in True Adult form, wings slicing the sky. Elara rode on my back, spirit energy merging with mine. Nyxara and Lirael flanked me. Sato flew on a silver platform beside us.

The journey to the Divine Spire took hours of constant fighting. Angel patrols tried to stop us. We deleted them without slowing down.

The Divine Spire itself was a nightmare of golden architecture — a floating mega-city of cathedrals, fortresses, and endless angelic legions.

We hit it like a meteor.

I activated Eternal Void Dominion at maximum range. The entire Spire trembled as void energy ate away at its foundations.

The Goddess appeared again — still wounded, but radiating even greater power than yesterday. She had clearly spent the night reinforcing herself.

"You dare bring war to my doorstep?!"

The second day's battle was even more brutal.

We clashed repeatedly in the skies above the Spire. Every exchange shattered floating towers and sent angelic legions scattering.

Elara and I fought as one — our Genesis Eclipse skill growing stronger with every use. Nyxara unleashed chaos at a scale I had never seen, literally rewriting sections of the Spire into nonsensical art installations mid-battle. Lirael dueled the remaining Pantheon members with pure maternal fury. Sato carved through elite Seraphim like they were paper.

But the Goddess adapted.

She began using Timeline Manipulation — briefly rewinding small sections of the battle to undo our gains.

For every step forward we took, she forced us back half a step.

Hours blurred into a nightmare of light and void.

At one point, the Goddess caught Elara in a binding of pure order chains.

I saw red.

I triggered Multiverse Echo + Godslayer Overdrive simultaneously and became a storm of four dragons attacking at once.

The chains shattered. Elara was freed.

But the Goddess landed a devastating counter on me — a direct hit from her sword of timelines that cut deep into my side.

Pain exploded through my body.

For the first time, I tasted my own blood in dragon form.

Lirael roared in fury and slammed into the Goddess, buying me time to recover.

Elara healed me frantically, tears in her eyes. "Don't you dare die on me!"

I forced a grin. "Not planning on it."

As the sun began to set on the second day, we had damaged the Divine Spire severely, but the Goddess still stood.

She looked down at us, breathing heavily, crown cracked.

"You have surprised me twice. There will not be a third time. Tomorrow… I will end this personally."

With those words, she retreated deeper into the Spire, sealing it behind layers of divine barriers.

We withdrew to the Blackfang Mountains under cover of night, exhausted but alive.

The final day was coming.

And the Goddess had promised to end everything.

I looked at my companions — Elara, Lirael, Nyxara, Sato — and felt a fierce determination settle in my chest.

Tomorrow, we would finish this.

One way or another.
