Toho Kotei Gakuen.

New Student Registration Area.

A long line had already formed.

Although Toho Kotei Gakuen is a rather unique academy in Japan, there are still a lot of students here.

Not far from the registration area, two boys, one tall and one short, were looking at the new students registering.

Their gazes swept over the students, as if searching for someone.

The shorter boy spoke up.

"Hey! Kamimono, do you think any of these new students have signed up for our basketball team?"

The taller boy, called Kamimono, shook his head.

"I don't know."

The shorter boy sighed.

"How about we just grab someone to join? Just to make up the numbers, that way we can participate in the national tournament. You probably want to participate too, right?"

Hearing the shorter boy's words, the taller boy fell silent.

After a long while, he finally spoke.

"Kugawa, this isn't something we can decide. Don't meddle; the coach will handle it."

Sigh…

The short boy sighed helplessly, his eyes filled with disappointment.

Suddenly, the tall boy's scrutinizing eyes widened, looking incredulously towards the back of the freshman registration line.

"It's him? What's he doing here?"

The short boy followed the tall boy's gaze with some confusion.

Then he saw a silver-haired boy standing behind the freshman registration area.

He asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Kamimono, who did you say? Why are you so surprised? Is it that silver-haired kid?"

The tall boy nodded and then spoke.

"Remember what I told you about last time, about being defeated by someone?"

Hearing this, the short boy's heart skipped a beat, then he looked again at the silver-haired boy at the back of the freshman registration line.

"You're not talking about that kid, are you?"

The tall boy nodded.

"Yes, that's him. Don't underestimate him. He's incredibly strong. He was a regular member of Teiko's team. You should know what that means!"

"What?"

This time, the short boy was genuinely shocked.

He knew all too well what being a regular member of Teiko's team meant.

"You mean he's a member of the 'Generation of Miracles'?"

"Most likely. When he played against me, I doubt he even used his full strength," the tall boy said seriously.

The short boy's eyes gleamed with a dazzling light.

That's the Generation of Miracles!

He understood the implications perfectly.

The "Generation of Miracles" meant a top national team = a super team = victory.

He immediately became excited and pulled the tall boy beside him.

"Kamimono, what are we waiting for? Let's go say hello to your old friend and get him on the basketball team. Then we can participate in the national tournament!"

The tall boy thought for a moment, then nodded.

"Okay, let's go say hello to him!"

He was clearly excited too.

Why couldn't he participate in the competition despite his considerable skill? It was because the school's basketball team was deserted, with only four members—not even enough for a five-person team! How could they possibly compete?

He was still incredibly excited.

If the other person could join the basketball team, then they could participate in this year's summer league.

The two of them walked towards Ryu together.

Meanwhile, back at Ryu's place.

Ryu strolled along leisurely, admiring the new campus.

He was taken aback when he arrived at the freshman registration area.

He hadn't expected so many people.

It seemed this school was even more extraordinary than he had imagined.

Ryu consciously joined the back of the registration line.

He hadn't waited long when a voice reached his ears from not far away.

"Ryu..."

Hearing this voice, Ryu was extremely curious.

Someone was actually calling his name.

This was a new school! Could it be a case of someone sharing the same name?

But the voice sounded somewhat familiar; it seemed he'd heard it somewhere before.

He looked in the direction of the voice and saw a tall, burly man with a fierce-looking face—a familiar one.

Ryu exclaimed in surprise.

"Kamimono?"

His mind went blank for a moment.

He never expected to see Kazuo Kamimono here.

Yes, the fierce-looking guy in front of him was none other than Kazuo Kamimono, with whom he had fought before.

"Haha... Ryu, I really didn't expect you to come to our school, that's wonderful!"

Kazuo Kamimono was very happy and extremely welcoming of Ryu joining Toho Kotei Gakuen.

Beside him, the short boy named Kugawa curiously looked Ryu up and down.

He was short compared to Kazuo Kamimono, who was 203 centimeters tall.

Compared to others, Kamimono was definitely a giant.

"Hello, I'm a friend of Kamimono's, my name is Kugawa, you can just call me Kugawa. Are you really a member of the 'Generation of Miracles'?"

"Kugawa, shut up," Kazuo Kamimono reminded him, worried that Kugawa might say something wrong.

Ryu didn't care.

He had already noticed the person beside Kazuo Kamimono.

He possessed the [Eye of the Ice Emperor], allowing him to see things others couldn't.

In Ryu's eyes, Kugawa exuded a unique aura, like a beautiful jade.

This meant he was a talented person, just like Kazuo Kamimono beside him.

This surprised Ryu somewhat.

Having been in this world for so long, besides the "Generation of Miracles," the "Uncrowned Five" were considered the most talented.

But now he had seen someone resembling one of the "Uncrowned Five," how could he not be astonished?

Ryu smiled at Kugawa.

"Hello, my name is Shirogane Ryu. As for whether I'm a member of the 'Generation of Miracles,' I left Teiko in my second year of junior high, so I'm not sure if my name is even on the 'Generation of Miracles' list."

"Then you must be really good at basketball! Would you like to join the basketball team?" Kugawa asked eagerly.

Kazuo Kamimono, standing nearby, also looked at Ryu.

He was also very curious to know if Ryu would join the basketball club.

He thought that with Ryu's skill, he would definitely join the basketball club.

And indeed, he didn't disappoint him.

Ryu nodded and said, "Of course I'll join the basketball club! I still want to beat those guys in the national tournament!"

Hearing this, Kazuo Kamimono and Kugawa were both delighted.

Kugawa cheered.

"Great! Now our basketball club has five members! We can finally go participate in the competition!"

Ryu was a little confused about what Kugawa meant.

Kazuo Kamimono smiled and explained to Ryu.

"Actually, our Toho Kotei Gakuen didn't have a basketball club before. It was only established last year. Right now, the basketball club only has four people: me, Kugawa, and two others. Because we didn't have enough people, we couldn't participate in last year's national tournament. But now that you're here, we can finally participate in the national tournament."

Ryu was completely dumbfounded!

What?!

The basketball club only has four people?

Including himself, that's exactly five people?
