Ed had no way of knowing what Roderick was thinking. But even if he did know, he wouldn't tell Roderick.
"Roderick, how's the ship construction going?" If there are no problems with the ship, Ed is going to head to the gypsum mine. The territory is basically secured now.
"My lord, two large ships have been built, and the old, smaller ships have all been repaired."
Ed felt it was feasible; there wouldn't be any problem bringing some things back.
Ed turned his gaze back to what was in front of him.
"Andrew, the ship is almost finished. We can head to that gypsum mine now. How are your preparations going?"
"My lord, the guard now numbers about fifty men. My warrior squad has eight men, all of whom are equipped with the newly forged knight's swords of the territory. Four of them are in full chainmail."
Andrew can still remember the shock he felt when he first saw that strange greatsword.
Blacksmith Smith cleaved his old longsword in two with a single stroke, and the new sword was completely unharmed. He also learned from Smith that the strange greatsword was called a knight's sword.
However, these swords were difficult to forge. There were exactly eight left, and that was only after he supervised Smith's forging every day. If he hadn't been watching over them, there probably wouldn't have been even half.
"Okay, very good. You'll set off in a couple of days. Be careful over there. Have Suguru find out the situation first: how many people are there? And whether the ship can bring everything back?"
"Yes, my lord, I will be careful."
Ed was relatively confident in Andrew.
"Will, you're leaving tomorrow too. You'll be spending a lot of time outside, so keep an eye out for any black stones or other strange things you might find and bring them back." Ed looked at Will, who had matured somewhat.
"Yes, my lord, I will pay close attention to that. However, I haven't yet completed the matter of forming a new squad from our existing squad, as you mentioned last time. Our squad currently only has five people."
Will was in a bit of a predicament. He recruited a few younger members from the territory, but there simply wasn't anyone left to form a separate police squad to manage the area.
"Okay, Will, have Cedar handle this when he comes back. Andrew, remember this team is called the Police Team. It's also part of the guard team, but it only manages the daily security of the territory, including the situation in the north and east of the territory, as well as people coming from outside the territory and some situations inside the territory."
Ed felt that Sugiki should be able to do the job well, he had felt that way from the first time he met him. Sugiki was a kind person.
"Yes, my lord." Andrew quickly wrote it down. He had to remember it now, because he would need to explain the details and names to the steward about any future rewards.
"Does anyone have any other questions?"
Ed looked around and, seeing no one speak, turned his gaze to the blacksmith Smith who was standing there.
Why is blacksmith Smith standing? Because the castle is still the same castle, and the long table is still the same long table.
Some people didn't sit at the first meeting, so some people still didn't sit at this meeting.
And now there are even more people, so there's no room to sit.
Ed thought they should bring their own stools to their next meeting.
"Smith, did you study those things I gave you carefully?"
"My lord, what you gave me is indeed somewhat high-end, but I don't quite understand it," Smith said modestly.
"Yes, that's right, those are all top-notch."
