Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Then Castrate Him

Chapter 50: Then Castrate Him

The news of King harboring a monster spread across the world the next day via media, and residents of 28 cities all saw the explosive headline.

Such explosive news caused an uproar among the citizens. The majority expressed opposition to King's act of keeping a monster, believing that harboring a monster was no different from raising a tiger to invite disaster, and that a single lapse could harm surrounding residents.

Many citizens petitioned the Hero Association, complaining about King's immoral behavior.

At the Hero Association Headquarters in A City.

"Report, Department Head. According to feedback from M-City citizens, King is privately keeping a monster. They hope we will step in to stop King and either kill the monster he has taken in or throw it into prison."

"Based on information from Lightning Kid, that monster possesses nearly Tiger-level strength and has a brutal disposition, having once attempted to murder people."

Maria and Coulson stood before Sitch, reporting on King's situation of keeping a monster.

"Keeping a monster?" Sitch's expression was peculiar. "Didn't that monster King is keeping resist his orders?"

Keeping monsters wasn't uncommon. Among the Hero Association's upper echelons, a large number of people kept monsters, either as pets or as tools to make money, and so on. These were open secrets within the Association's management. Therefore, Maria and the others weren't surprised by King keeping a monster. Furthermore, with King's strength, if the monster had fiercely resisted, it would have been beaten to death long ago.

Maria said with a solemn expression, "According to feedback from the citizens at the scene, the monster King is keeping not only doesn't resist King, but also willingly pledges allegiance to King as its master."

Sitch said, surprised, "A monster willingly pledges allegiance to King as its master?"

Maria nodded, saying admiringly, "That's right. Perhaps Mr. King's personal charisma is too strong; even a monster was attracted by him and willingly became his slave."

"..."

Sitch silently glanced at Maria, whose face was filled with fanaticism. The words of a fanatical follower were not to be trusted, he thought. Then, he looked at Coulson. "Coulson, do you know why the monster willingly serves King as its master?"

"The reason is temporarily unclear."

Coulson frowned and said, "From Lightning Kid, we learned that the monster named Piccolo is very protective of King. It became enraged and wanted to slaughter the populace just because an egg thrown by a citizen almost hit King. From this, it can be seen that the monster Piccolo is very loyal to King."

Sitch's eyes lit up. "What method did King use to make a monster so loyal to him?"

Coulson suggested, "Perhaps we can invite King over for a consultation."

In fact, the Hero Association also conducted a lot of research on monsters. The most famous was the "Drive the Tiger, Swallow the Wolf" project, the main content of which was to research how to control monsters, and then have these controlled monsters become an important fighting force for humanity against monster disasters.

However, the project did not proceed smoothly. The control over monsters had always been difficult to grasp, and it was very easy for them to lose control and go berserk. The Dragon-level monster that escaped from the M-City monster prison a few days ago was a failed experimental subject of this project.

They had always been looking for a breakthrough, but unfortunately, the experimental results were extremely unsatisfactory. However, what they never expected was that just as they were despairing and about to give up, King had tamed a monster into obedient submission. This suddenly made their eyes light up, and they saw hope for controlling monsters once again.

"Let's wait two days. At that time, we can also mention to him the matter of using his fame to promote and shift pressure away from the Association." Sitch said gravely, "Currently, the most urgent task is to build King's public trust."

Although keeping a monster was nothing to them, for ordinary citizens, it was simply an anomaly, something that should be killed on sight. Only King could survive amidst the wrath of the populace.

Although King could make a monster willingly submit, it was like he was keeping a Tibetan Mastiff. The mastiff might wag its tail ingratiatingly at him, but it would bare its fangs and glare at others, perhaps even pounce and bite someone.

Therefore, even if King demonstrated the ability to make monsters obedient, the public was still very worried that Piccolo would suddenly go berserk and harm people. They preferred to live in a harmonious world without monsters.

More importantly, they were afraid that the strongest hero, King, after spending a long time with a monster, would develop feelings of sympathy towards it. That would be a complete disaster.

"Department Head, I think we can use King's act of keeping a monster to announce the 'Drive the Tiger, Swallow the Wolf' plan. Firstly, it can explain the reason for and necessity of the monster prisons. Secondly, it can clarify how the funds raised from the public are spent. Thirdly, it can clear King's name for keeping a monster. It's killing three birds with one stone."

Coulson pushed up his glasses and immediately put forward his views and suggestions.

"Hmm? Not bad." Sitch's eyes lit up, and he smiled. "Let's do as you say." He said to Maria, "Maria, use our monster alert system to promote our project to the outside world and at the same time defend King."

King was a moral standard-bearer they had recently set up. How could they allow him to have a black mark on his record? Besides, keeping a monster really wasn't such a big deal. As long as the monster could be controlled, the Hero Association had always turned a blind eye.

"Department Head, this is bad! Dinosaur-type monsters have been appearing one after another in M-City. The number of monsters has already reached 15, and more are continuously emerging..."

"What?! Quick! Temporarily halt efforts to build King's public trust. Immediately dispatch heroes to M-City to eliminate the monsters. Oh, and call King. Ask him to go out and quell this monster wave."

"Yes!"

...

X-City.

At King's home.

"A duck-billed dragon monster has appeared on a street in M-City. The monster disaster level is Wolf. Currently, A-class hero Super Alert Car Man is battling the monster..."

"A velociraptor monster has appeared on another street in M-City. The monster disaster level is Tiger. Currently..."

...

"A stegosaurus monster has appeared on yet another street in M-City. The monster disaster level is Tiger..."

In just a dozen minutes, M-City's TV monster news channel continuously broadcast more than twenty reports of dinosaur monsters appearing, as if the city were being invaded. This caused commotion and unease among the citizens.

king scratched his head. Should I go out and help?

He glanced at Piccolo, who was mopping the floor, and recalled the three permanent commands he had given Piccolo by grabbing his ears after returning home yesterday:

"First, you must not harm humans. However, if a human unreasonably tries to harm you, then castrate him."

"Second, you must be happy to help others. However, if someone insults you while you are helping them, then castrate him."

"Third, actively kill monsters and strive to improve your own strength. If others gossip about you killing monsters, for example, saying you coldly murder your own kind, then castrate him."

(Fourth, if the author of this novel drops it... oh, you don't need to castrate him anymore; he's already castrated himself.)

"Master, what if it's a woman?"

"Oh, do you know about tubal ligation?"

"No."

"Piccolo, help me wash my underwear. After you're done, put on your loli doll costume. We're going to..." king stared at the rapidly scrolling monster news on the TV and said in a low voice, "Execute justice!"

"Yes, Master!"
