Chapter 3 - Fight At Train

With his fat face stretched into a smile, Domi walked towards the lone-looking bag on the last shelf on the right.

'I can't let him have it!'

In that moment, Waylen leaped into action, and tackled Domi to the ground before he could reach the bag.

"Argh, you bastard!"

It felt like the entire luggage car shook a little bit when Domi touched the ground.

"GET HIM!"

Baru and Geno ran for the bag, but before they could reach it, Waylen snatched it up and whipped it around.

The bag slammed into the two boys, knocking them off their feet and making them almost fall to the ground.

"No bad feelings, aye? I just don't like strangers touching my bag, that's all."

Waylen winked his left eye and walked towards the door.

"Wait!"

Baru stood back up, anger burning in his strange yellow eyes, and he pointed straight for the bag.

"What're you hiding in there?"

"Nothing. I just don't like strangers touching my stuff. Did your mother not teach you manners, Arafari?"

Waylen asked with a smile, and with his leg, he opened the sliding door behind him and whipped the bag over his shoulder.

"GRAB HIM!"

Baru shouted.

His friends, Domi and Geno, were slightly lazy to get moving, but once they were back up, they noticed that Waylen was already running down the corridor.

"MOVE YOUR FAT ASSES!"

Baru dragged them up and then sprinted after the pink-haired Waylen.

"Huff… Huff…"

Waylen ran down the corridor.

His footsteps were loud. And his bag kept slamming against the doors and walls. It was loud enough to alert the other people in the train.

"…What is going on?"

"…So loud, I was having a nap!"

Several doors opened, and they saw some strange-looking kid with pink hair walking past with a heavy-looking bag.

Then.

Shortly afterwards, they saw Baru and his gang of friends running after the pink-haired boy.

'Should I just throw the bag out of the window?'

Waylen thought to himself as he kept running down the corridor, and then he opened another door and entered yet another passenger car.

He was contemplating whether it would be better to just toss away the notebook for good, as it seemed like a really dangerous thing to have.

'Why did I even have this? I have a notebook belonging to one of Karoline's, and I also have pink hair, just like them.

'Maybe I am actually Karoline? I don't know since I don't have any of my memories!'

Waylen clicked his tongue.

He then stumbled through the restaurant car, received some angry yells from the other passengers, and eventually reached the final car.

It was the car before the caboose.

"Oh man…"

He came to a stop as he reached the end of the train.

Then.

Waylen turned around and saw Baru and his friends enter the same car.

"Come on, guys."

He chuckled awkwardly and gazed at the window and wondered how durable it was as he debated whether he should just throw the bag out.

'The window looks thick. It must be because we are high in the sky. I doubt it'll break from a simple bag toss, no matter how big this bag is.

'I could try breaking it with my fist, but it'll take too long, and I might accidentally break my fist in process.'

Waylen's shoulders dropped.

"Get him."

Baru said coldly.

With their knuckles cracking, Geno and Domi approached Waylen with evil smirks on their faces.

Shhh-click!

"Stop!"

The car door opened, followed by a shout, and they turned around to see a short girl standing there with a nerdy-looking kid.

"Leave Waylen alone!"

Annie shouted with her arms crossed, but because of her short stature, she really didn't look intimidating.

"…Yeah…"

Ned said unenthusiastically.

"You're with this pink bastard? He is Karoline, I know he is!"

Baru roared.

"He isn't Karoline! He is a friend of ours from Bubble Village. That hair just happens to be a coincidence!"

Annie shouted.

"…Bubble Village?"

Baru frowned.

He'd never heard of it, but there were thousands of small villages, and there was no way he would know them all.

"I will find the truth on my own. That bag holds the truth. I know it does. Guys, retrieve the bag for me already!"

Baru ordered them.

Domi grabbed the bag, and tried to rip it from Waylen's hands, but he refused to let go of it, and he hold to it with dear life.

"Waylen, just let go!"

Ned shouted.

He couldn't understand what was so important inside the bag, but it definitely wasn't worth it to make an enemy of Arafari!

"Burp~ What the hell is going on in here?!"

In that moment, a man stumbled inside the car. A drunken man. He was holding an half-empty bottle of whiskey in hand.

He had a cap with words "Justice" and a long white cloak trailing behind him and a sailor's shirt that was stained with various substances.

"Leave the boy alone. No bullying in the train… Burp… Don't make me angry, you shitty brats!"

The man stumbled past Baru, his drunken breath making the air stink, and he approached the trio at the back.

Domi and Geno slowly backed away.

"…A member of Justice Army."

Annie whispered as she looked at the drunken man, and this was her first time seeing one in the flesh.

She had… a different kind of image in her mind of what they looked like.

"Isn't he just a drunk? Maybe he stole this uniform from somewhere."

Ned wryly smiled.

"Well?!"

Graham screamed as he looked at the fat Domi and simple-looking Geno. They were like scared little kids in front of their angry father.

"W-We're sorry!"

Domi and Geno scurried away towards Baru, as they didn't want to make a member of the Justice Army angry!

"What branch are you from? Maybe you know my older brother."

Baru asked.

"…None of your business, brat."

Graham said, and he brought the bottle of whiskey to his lips and took a long swig before setting it back down.

"…This is not over."

Baru whispered coldly, and then he walked away with his friends.

"You two… Also leave!"

Graham shouted over his shoulder at Ned and Annie, and they nodded respectfully before running off.

"Thanks for saving me… Well, I should get going."

Waylen smiled awkwardly and tried walking past Graham, but he then placed his hand on his shoulder and stopped him.

"Interesting-looking hair you got, kid."

Graham said with a cold gaze.
