Chapter 2 - New World

The dusty road leading into the remote village was bathed in the harsh light of the setting sun, painting everything in shades of blood and gold. Lucian stood his ground, breathing heavily, his grip tight on the worn hilt of his sword.

One of the bandits lunged forward with a savage roar, swinging his rusty blade in a wide arc.

"Give me that sword, kid!" the bandit bellowed.

Lucian dodged to the side with surprising agility, the blade whistling past his ear. In one fluid motion, he countered — driving his sword deep into the bandit's back. The man let out a gurgling cry as blood poured from the wound, soaking the ground beneath him.

The remaining bandits froze, staring at their fallen comrade in shock.

"This boy… he fights like a master swordsman," one of them whispered fearfully, taking a hesitant step back.

Another bandit's face twisted with rage. "I don't care! He has to pay for what he did!"

The angry bandit charged. Lucian turned to meet him, but the man was faster than expected. He caught Lucian's descending sword mid-swing with his bare hand, blood dripping from his palm. With a brutal grunt, he wrenched the blade away and hurled Lucian hard against the nearby stone wall.

Lucian's sword clattered to the ground. Pain exploded through his back as he slid down the rough stones.

"Let me kill you with your own sword, brat," the bandit growled dangerously, stalking forward while picking up the fallen blade.

Lucian's heart pounded. He tried to stand, but his body screamed in protest.

Suddenly, the thunder of hooves and the clash of armor filled the air.

"Catch those bandits! We can't let them escape this time!" a commanding warrior shouted energetically as a squad of armed riders burst onto the scene.

The bandits' eyes widened in panic. "Run!" one of them yelled.

The leader of the bandits shot Lucian a venomous glare. "I'll take that sword from you next time, kid!"

With that, the entire gang scattered into the surrounding woods like frightened rats.

Lucian pushed himself up weakly, wincing as he retrieved his sword from the dirt. He brushed the dust off the blade and whispered to himself, voice heavy with exhaustion and realization:

"This world… is really very dangerous."

The stable gate creaked open with a dramatic groan. Out stepped Yukie, the elegant sorceress, now dressed in a stunning slit gown that clung to her graceful figure. The fabric was deep crimson, with high slits running up both sides that revealed long, smooth legs with every step. The neckline plunged daringly, accentuating her ample cleavage, while the gown flowed elegantly around her curvaceous body like liquid silk.

She stopped in front of Lucian, placed one hand on her hip, and gave a graceful, teasing smile.

"How am I looking, Sweety?" she asked, voice smooth and playful as she did a slow, elegant twirl. The slits in her gown parted teasingly, offering a generous view of her toned thighs.

Lucian stared for a moment, his face turning slightly red. He scratched the back of his head nervously, trying (and failing) to look anywhere else.

"U-Um… it looks really good on you," he admitted awkwardly, "but first we have to figure out where we are… and find a room for the night. This place doesn't seem very safe."

He quickly looked around with a serious gaze.

The dusty streets of the bustling fantasy town were alive with movement under the warm afternoon sun. Merchants shouted their wares, colorful banners fluttered in the breeze, and all manner of beings moved through the crowded thoroughfare. Lucian walked ahead with purpose, his sword resting on his shoulder, while Yukie followed closely behind, still adjusting to the vibrant chaos around them.

"Do you know anything about this type of Isekai world?" Yukie asked, her tone laced with genuine confusion as she tried to keep up with his pace.

Before Lucian could answer, a tall lizardman dressed in fine merchant clothes walked past them. He was holding the hand of a cute half-human girl with soft scales on her cheeks and a small tail swishing behind her.

Yukie's eyes widened dramatically. "Was that… a lizardman in human clothes?!" she shouted, pointing openly with a shocked expression.

The lizardman stopped mid-step and turned back calmly, still gently holding his daughter's hand. "What do you mean, Miss?" he asked politely, his reptilian eyes blinking slowly.

Lucian quickly stepped between them, flashing an awkward, apologetic smile. "I'm very sorry for her behavior! She's… new around here."

The lizardman smiled kindly and waved his clawed hand dismissively. "It's alright. We're all part of the same world — we shouldn't fight over small things like this." He gave a gentle nod and continued walking with his daughter, the little girl waving cutely at them.

Lucian let out a heavy sigh and grabbed Yukie's hand, pulling her forward through the busy street. "You shouldn't act like that, Stepmom," he said in a serious tone, cheeks still slightly flushed from embarrassment.

Yukie pouted cutely, hurrying to keep up with his rushing steps. "Anyone would react that way after seeing a lizardman walking around with a half-human daughter!"

Lucian glanced back at her with a deadpan expression. "This is a fantasy world. Lizardmen, beastkin, elves, dwarves — they're all different races and species living alongside humans. Every race contributes something important to society. It's completely normal here."

Yukie rolled her eyes dramatically and crossed her arms tightly under her huge breasts, pushing them up noticeably in her already revealing slit gown. The motion drew a few curious glances from passing townsfolk.

"Don't tell me there are tons of different beings here… and she really had a half-human daughter," she grumbled with an aggressive pout.

Lucian gave her a flat, slightly amused look. "Yes. This world is full of different species, and they live together in harmony. When two different races marry, they can have demi-humans — children who inherit traits from both parents. It's simple biology. Haven't you read any Isekai or fantasy novels?"

Yukie rolled her eyes again "Of course I have… if I ever get the chance to rest instead of constantly babysitting you," she sighed dramatically, still following him through the lively streets.

After wandering through the lively streets for a while, Lucian and Yukie finally stopped in front of a modest but charming wooden hotel. A faded sign reading "The Wandering Dragon Inn" creaked gently in the evening breeze.

"We should stay here for tonight," Lucian said calmly, pushing open the heavy wooden door.

Yukie followed him inside, her eyes darting around the bustling lobby. Various fantasy races — beastkin with twitching ears, dwarves with thick beards, and even a few scaled lizardfolk — were chatting, eating, and laughing. She tried to act natural but couldn't help muttering under her breath, "It feels like I'm standing in the middle of a zoo…"

Lucian walked straight to the reception counter with a composed expression. "We'd like to rent a room, please."

The friendly human woman behind the counter smiled and slid a thick register toward him. "Of course, sir. Please sign your names here."

Lucian signed confidently and handed the pen back. "Done."

The woman gave him a brass key with a warm smile. "Your room is B-17 on the second floor. I hope you enjoy our services."

Lucian took the key and turned to Yukie with a small smile. "Stepmom, follow me."

Yukie trailed after him up the creaky wooden stairs, doing her best to ignore the curious stares from the mixed crowd of guests. "I hope everything goes well…" she whispered to herself, half hopeful, half resigned.

They reached the second-floor corridor. Lucian scanned the room numbers. "B-17… where is B-17?"

Yukie pointed at the door in front of them. "Right here."

Lucian unlocked the door and stepped inside with a confident grin. The room was simple but cozy — a large bed in the center, a small wooden table, two chairs, and a door leading to a private bathroom.

"Not bad at all," he said, collapsing onto the bed with a satisfied sigh. "This actually feels pretty comfortable."

Yukie nodded and flopped down beside him. Her movement caused her huge breasts to rise and jiggle noticeably inside the revealing slit gown, offering a deep view of her cleavage as she stared up at the wooden ceiling.

"Is everything free in this world?" she asked curiously.

Lucian kept his gaze on the ceiling. "I don't think so. We'll probably have to kill monsters or find work to earn money for rent… unless we want to build our own house someday."

Yukie sat up slowly, a small smile forming on her lips. "In every world, the rules are basically the same, huh?"

A soft knock sounded at the door.

"I'm from hotel service, sir," a gentle voice called from outside.

Lucian waved his hand lazily. "Come in."

The door opened, revealing a cute fox-eared maid with a fluffy tail and a polite smile. "My name is Lisa. If you need anything, please ring the bell on the table and I'll come right away."

Lucian sat up. "Could you prepare something for us to eat? We're pretty hungry."

Lisa bowed gracefully. "Of course, sir. I'll bring it shortly." She left with light, elegant steps.

Yukie stood up and walked toward the bathroom door. "I need a bath before dinner." She opened it and peeked inside, eyes widening at the sight of a large, old-fashioned wooden bathtub. "It really does look like something from the old times…"

Lucian followed her in, examining the wooden tap and shelves. "It's definitely a fantasy world. Everything feels both familiar and completely different." He struck a dramatic pose. "I must be the main character of this story!"

Yukie gave him a long, deadpan stare. "Okay… that's enough main character energy for today." She gently pushed him out of the bathroom. "Now wait outside. No peeking, Sweety."

She closed the door behind him with a soft click.

Lucian rolled his eyes and wandered back into the room. His gaze landed on a small, leather-bound book lying on the table beside the service bell.

"What's this?" he muttered curiously, picking it up and sitting down in the chair to examine it.
