Chapter 42 - Ken Cambiazzo

Chapter 66 – Ken Cambiazzo

Two large, dark, armored SUVs screeched to a stop in front of the restaurant, blocking both the entrance and the street exit.

From the first SUV, six bulky young men stepped out, followed by two gigantic bodyguards. From the second SUV, eight more bodyguards emerged—each dressed in identical black suits, dark sunglasses, and security earpieces. They looked like real muscle‑bound gorillas whose presence seemed too big for the doorway.

The group moved toward the entrance, where the host was trying to manage the waiting line. Since it was Saturday night, the restaurant was fully packed, and the wait list was at least an hour long.

Behind this wall of security and arrogance, a familiar figure appeared: Ken Cambiazo.

Ken's voice was prepotent, rising above the murmur: "I need a table for six. Now."

The host was very polite but firm: "Sorry, sir. We have about a one‑hour wait."

Ken's voice grew louder with bottled fury: "One hour? Do you even know who you're talking to? I'm the mayor's son—KEN CAMBIAZO. With one call I can get you fired and shut down this second‑rate restaurant. I want a table immediately. What are you waiting for?"

The host insisted: "Sir, I assure you there are no tables available."

The customers in the waiting line, upon hearing the name and remembering the Cambiazo family's reputation (rumored to have mafia connections), quickly dispersed in fear of retaliation.

The host insisted there was nowhere to seat them, until Ken looked over his shoulder into the restaurant. His eyes locked onto the back of the dining room—where the "undesirables" (Walter, Claudia, Bruno, Titus, and Cristal) were sitting at the best table in the place.

Ken snarled: "What the hell is this?" He gestured forward, ordering his men: "Get inside."

The bodyguards and the young men—social climbers who knew the easiest way to rise was to obey the mayor's son—moved forward.

The host immediately stepped in front of Ken, trying to block him. "Sir! Sir, please—sir, you can't go in. Please stop!"

One of the bodyguards shoved the host so brutally that he flew a couple of meters back. He crashed into a waitress carrying a pizza, and the pizza soared through the air, landing all over a nearby group of customers.

The customers, recognizing Ken and his father's dangerous reputation, said nothing and quickly left.

Ken's entourage stormed toward the kids' table.

Meanwhile, at the table, the boys were laughing, telling jokes, discussing what had happened with Walter's aunt, completely unaware of the chaos until they heard the loud crash.

They all looked up at the same time and realized the commotion: Ken Cambiazo was heading straight for them.

Ken, surrounded by his men, mocked: "Well, well, look what I found—the loser squad, hahaha. Two people no one can understand when they speak, a four‑eyes librarian, a dumbass in a wheelchair, and the weakling we beat up on the rooftop. You recovered fast! Good—now we can beat you up more often, hahaha!"

Ken continued: "Now, you group of rejects, move from my table, or my men will move you."

Bruno stood up, fists clenched, ready to hit him.

Cristal grabbed his arm, stopping him. Through the mental link: "Watch what I'm about to do. It's going to be fun."

Bruno nodded slightly. "Yes."

Cristal, with a mocking smile, stared directly at Ken: "Hey, you—retard."

Ken froze, stunned and furious. "You talking to me?"

Cristal tilted her head, gesturing around: "Yes. Who else?"

The young men behind Ken let out small snickers; even his supposed friends flashed slight smiles. Ken felt his blood boiling.

Ken blustered: "Don't you know who I am? I'm the mayor's son!"

Cristal replied coolly: "And what do I care about that?"

The laughter around him grew—both from the kids at the table and even from Ken's own group.

Ken shouted, face red with rage: "This is your last chance! Move or pay the price!"

Cristal leaned forward slightly: "You… hey, retard. You say your dad is the mayor, that you can do whatever you want, and that this restaurant has to treat you like a king."

Ken was irritated, confused, angry: "Yes! Are you deaf? Also, nobody understands a damn thing you say."

Cristal pretended to think, touching her chin: "Hmm… weird. Because until now you've understood everything I've said."

Everyone erupted into laughter—including Claudia and Walter. Titus was laughing so hard tears streamed down his face.

Titus gasped for air: "Stop it, Cristal! Stop, please, my stomach hurts from laughing!"

Cristal laughed loudly, enjoying his humiliation.

Ken screamed at his men: "You! Give them a good beating so they learn who's in charge!"

His men moved in to attack. People in the restaurant stood up in panic.

Cristal raised one hand, stopping the bodyguards with a surprisingly calm voice: "Wait there. The best part is coming. Let me make a phone call first."

The bodyguards froze, confused by her reaction.

Ken shouted, completely unhinged: "Move, you useless idiots! That's what you're paid for—to obey me!"

Cristal took out one of the newest smartphone models from her pocket, so new that even the guards stared with their mouths open. She dialed a number and, as it rang, she looked at Ken and his bodyguards with a mischievous smile.
